Welcome to the September issue of Personal Care Global magazine. I hope you had a great summer. This issue focuses

on three topics: skin microbiome, marine ingredients and upcycled ingredients.

In the skin microbiome section, German

cosmetic actives maker CLR asks whether the personal care industry has gone down a cul-de- sac by promoting ingredients as ‘microbiome- friendly’. In a thought-provoking piece, Harald van

consumer can comprehend and appreciate. By promoting skin health – the epidermis and

the follicle – consumers will be able to see that it promotes a healthy composition of the skin microbiome. Elsewhere in this issue, there is an in-

depth interview with Arnita Wofford, the global marketing and technical director for beauty & personal care at Univar Solutions. In a wide-ranging chat, Arnita discusses

the latest trends in personal care, taking in sun care, skincare, formulations, accessibility, hair care, menopausal beauty, sustainability, the metaverse and product personalisation. I found my conversation with Arnita very interesting and hope you do too. Also in this issue, we preview the California

SCC Suppliers’ Day event in Long Beach, which takes place on 25-26 October, as the autumn conference seasons begins to swing into action. In addition to Cali SCC, Personal Care Global

will have a presence at the 33rd IFSCC Congress in Barcelona this month; in-cosmetics Asia in Bangkok, Thailand on 7-9 November; and SCS Formulate in Coventry, UK on 14-15 November. Enjoy the magazine.
