Sharon opens US lab, appoints Americas chief
Sharon Personal Care has made a series of strategic moves to build its presence and develop stronger relationships with its customers in the US market. The Israeli firm has opened a US-based regional sales office and application laboratory while Pascal Yvon (pictured) has been appointed to the newly created position of general manager for the Americas. The new sales office and
application laboratory are in Lambertville, New Jersey, giving customers in the region greater accessibility, faster response times, and enhanced support. The company will focus on
product innovation at the new lab, helping customers to formulate new concepts using Sharon’s advanced preservative systems, new oleosomes technology, natural emulsifiers, and active ingredients. “The United States represents the biggest market in the personal
care industry,” said Sharon chief executive Naama Eylon. “We are focused on building
our footprint in the region and providing innovative, environmentally friendly solutions to our customers,” she added. “There is great opportunity for
expansion in the US and beyond, and I look forward to further strengthening partnerships and developing close relationships with our customers through our expanded application services.”
Vytrus Biotech forges K-beauty alliance
Spanish cosmetic active maker Vytrus Biotech has entered into an agreement with K-beauty manufacturer Cosmecca Korea to collaborate for future projects. The MOU (memorandum of
understanding) will combine the plant stem cell biotechnology platform of Vytrus Biotech with the skincare R&D expertise and manufacturing of Cosmecca Korea. Cosmecca Korea is a leading
ODM company in Korea, established in 1999 as an expert in R&D and manufacturing of skincare products, leading trends by reflecting consumer needs and collaborating with global client companies. The company is listed on the
Korean stock market (KOSDAQ) and is present with its own facilities in South Korea, China and USA.

Yvon joins Sharon Personal
Care with more than 20 years of industry experience. His most recent role was global senior VP for commercial strategy and sales at S-Biomedic, before that he held senior positions at Croda and Alban Muller. In addition to business
development and corporate strategy at Sharon, Yvon is responsible for generating sales, customer service and application services. “Over the past year, Sharon has
made key acquisitions, established strategic partnerships, expanded its expertise, and introduced innovative products, showing that it is a global solutions provider in the personal care market,” he said. “With my appointment, and the opening of our new offices, the company is executing its strategy to build our presence in the North American market and to foster greater relationships with our customers here.”
Siltech breaks ground at
Ontario plant Canadian speciality silicones manufacturer Siltech has held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new production facility in Ontario. Projected to be completed at
the end of 2024, the company’s third facility is being built in Fort Erie near the US border. The manufacturing plant will
more than double the current capacity from Siltech’s Toronto and Mississauga plants. Across the Niagara River from
Buffalo, this modern facility will have a steady supply of largely non-petroleum energy from Ontario utilities. Siltech is a privately held,
Toronto based specialty silicone manufacturer with global reach and over 35 years of experience.
DKSH, bitop form Asia-Pacific partnership
DKSH has signed an exclusive agreement with German cosmetic active producer bitop to distribute the latter’s ingredients in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore. The Swiss firm will provide business development, marketing, sales, logistics, and distribution services for bitop’s range, including bitop Ectoin natural and Glycoin natural. The partnership builds
on an existing agreement in Indonesia, Portugal, Spain, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. DKSH said the partnership
was expanded thanks to DKSH’s extensive distribution network, highly specialized commercial and technical teams, as well as strong capabilities in logistics and value-added services, including
technical and regulatory support. Roland Kraut, Vice President
Global Personal Care Industry, DKSH, said: “Our strong local presence in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia will enable us to increase growth and market penetration to bring bitop’s range of cosmetic active ingredients to a wider customer base.” Eva Galik, CEO, bitop,
