Protection from moisture- and friction-induced scalp erythema and pruritus In a group of volunteers frequently wearing a helmet, application of a lotion containing the upcycled Schinus terebinthifolia extract (1%) on the scalp significantly reduced scalp erythema over baseline, reaching -36% at D7 and -55% at


D14, compared to -10% at D7 and -41% at D14 with placebo (Figure 4A). At D14, the same lotion decreased by 60%


the scalp pruritus score (-33% with placebo) (Figure 4B). Such results confirm that the upcycled Schinus terebinthifolia extract is effective at controlling erythema and itching


when the scalp is kept under conditions of increased moisture and friction.
