CP Kelco partners with Exopolymer to develop next-gen biopolymers
US firm CP Kelco is partnering with compatriot biotech outfit ExoPolymer to develop and commercialise a portfolio of functional ingredients for the personal care industry. The initial focus of this agreement will be to
scale up production of ExoPolymer’s first product, a polysaccharide-based biopolymer to be used in high- end, skin care formulations for hydration, anti-aging, and anti-wrinkle performance. In partnership with CP Kelco, ExoPolymer plans
to offer an improved alternative to hyaluronic acid designed to be effective, animal-free, genetic modification-free, safe and derived from plant feedstocks. “Partnering with CP Kelco at this early stage is
Global Amines fires up Indonesia plant
Global Amines has commissioned a fatty amines production plant in Surabaya, Indonesia. The facility will supply fatty amines to Global Amines customers in southeast Asia and further afield, extending the support offered by its existing production facilities in China, Europe and the Americas. The products are used to produce key
ingredients in personal care and home care, such as mild surfactants and co-surfactants for shampoo and dishwashing liquids. “Construction and commissioning under the
pandemic restrictions was extremely challenging, but we are now very happy to have our new facility on stream to complete our truly global network for fatty amines production,” said Ernesto Horikoshi, group general manager of Global Amines. “The substantial new capacity and extended
footprint enable us to provide our customers with the stability of reliable and competitive supply for their ever-increasing needs,” he added. Global Amines’ new facility is located in the
largest integrated oleochemical site in the world, giving proximity to key feedstock supply.
