SILICONES UNTREATED TREATED BEFORE TREATMENT AFTER TREATMENT

Figure 7: Hair surface characterisation by SEM between group. Treated by shampoo containing Nano Olive Oil and untreated
the group using shampoo containing Nano Olive Oil and the group using regular shampoo after one wash. The image was taken from an electron microscope at the laboratory.
Results Hair surface looks smoother, cuticles are partially repaired, split ends are fully sealed after one-time shampoo containing Nano Olive Oil application (Figure 8).
Test 9: Compatibility test (solubility) Results As a result of testing compatibility, Nano Olive Oil solubility well in water and oil. This is improved the dispersibility of cleansing and foundation of skin care and makeup products as well as hair products.

Test 10: In vitro assessment of protection from UVA light- induced oxidative stress in human keratinocytes The purpose of this study was to evaluate the protective capacity of Nano Olive Oil – 20% versus UVA light-induced oxidative stress. The test was conducted by Dermaclaim Lab S.L. Human HaCaT keratinocytes were treated
with Nano Olive Oil – 20% for 24 hours and subjected to UVA light (30 min, 15 J/cm2
) to
induce the oxidative stress. Both the relative cell viability, measured by the reduction of resazurin to resorufin, and the fluorescence of the ROS-oxidized product of H2DCFDA, 2’,7’-dichlorofluorescein (DCF) were recorded. Then, the cell viability and ROS levels were
normalised versus untreated non-irradiated, as well as untreated UVA- exposed condition to assess the protective effect of the tested sample. Different experimental conditions were set:
■ Control: cells belonging to this group were not treated and remained nonirradiated. ■ Control + UVA: this group was not treated but exposed to UVA light. ■ Treatment with the test sample: these experimental conditions involved the pre treatment with the Nano Olive Oil at different concentrations (0.0001%, 0.001% and 0.01%), followed by exposure to UVA light. The cell line was HaCaT immortalised
human keratinocytes. The origin is Caucasian, adult human skin (Figure 10).
