SCS FORMULATE PREVIEW

CellMark Croda
as well as innovation through eight new formulations developed by the UK Personal Care Laboratory covering hair care, bath and shower, body care and sun care applications. Azelis will also take part in this year’s
Inspire Programme. On Wednesday 16 November 12:10, senior technical manager Astrid Bodard will talk about ‘Beyond Naturals’ and the future of personal care formulation. As part of its commitment to reducing
waste and utilisation of natural resources in line with its company vision, Blue Sky Botanics will showcase its expanding range of botanical extracts developed with materials that may not otherwise be utilised. The company is harnessing green chemistry processes that allow valuable residual
compounds to be harvested from upcycled material, by-products of primary industry, or resources that would otherwise go to waste. To overcome misconceptions around
sustainability claims, Blue Sky Botanics will present ingredients (including standardised extracts) within defined categories: ethical/ responsible/transparently-sourced. These include waterless beauty from selective oil- infused extracts. Maison Sevessence has teamed up with
CellMark, an international distributor, to develop 100% natural and COSMOS-certified perfumes for cosmetics formulation. Two new products have been introduced
to expand the range. These are designed for sensitive skin, without the 87 allergens listed
by the Scientific Committee of Consumer Safety (SCCS). The new products are Sensual Jasmine, which has top notes of rhubarb, gardenia and hyacinth; and Cheerful Leaf, which has top notes of ivy leaf, rhubarb and green apple. Colonial Chemical is showcasing SugaDet LSDG MB (INCI: Decyl Glucoside (and) Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate), said to be an effective blend of mild, high foam sulfosuccinate and mild, high foam alkyl polyglucoside. The blend offers simple cold temperature
processing of the sulphosuccinate, substantially reducing energy usage in producing typical formulations, the US firm says. It has a high bio-renewable carbon content (certified 86% biorenewable carbon content) and is optimised to generate copious amounts of stable foam with a creamy bubble structure. Croda is showcasing ChromaPur CV2 & CV7,
two spherical cellulose powders, positions itself as a perfect alternative to plastic microbeads, with similar or better performance in cosmetics applications.
