Symrise shines light on UV filter Neo Heliopan EHT
Symrise has expanded its sun protection filter product portfolio with Neo Heliopan EHT, an organic UV filter.
The UVB absorber is said to be particularly well suited for sunscreen products with a high SPF, as well as in water-resistant products. Symrise says the waning
acceptance of traditional UV filters on the consumer side combined with regulatory requirements are prompting the German firm to balance its market strategy between these two poles. “With Neo Heliopan EHT, we
are launching an organic UV filter that addresses changed user demands,” said junior product manager Marek Busch.
“It can increase the sun
protection factor in virtually every type of cosmetic products from day creams to beach care applications,” he added. Thanks to its good solubility
in polar oils, says Symrise, Neo Heliopan EHT formulators can easily incorporate the ingredient into the oil phase of sun protection formulations. “It works in practically all
cosmetic product types, also in waterless systems. It works well in combination with other organic UV filters and also in synergy with mineral UV filters like zinc oxide,” it said. Neo Heliopan EHT is also said
to work well with all skin types and skin tones – including and in
particular for the manufacture of cosmetics specially formulated for sensitive skin. The new UVB absorber can also
go into products for daily care and for the sensitive skin of children.
Lubrizol launches Xpozuki ingredient
Lubrizol Life Science has launched Xpozuki, a biotech ingredient designed to protect against exposome-induced stressors. The US firm says the all-in-one
multiethnic skin, scalp and hair care solution provides exposome protection and repair for beauty that lasts. “Xpozuki biotech ingredient
prevents, defends against and repairs this exposome damage in the skin, scalp and hair. It is sustainably sourced from organic azuki beans known for their detoxifying and antioxidant benefits,” the Ohio company added.
“Thanks to Lubrizol’s
biotechnological processes, we have been able to enrich the content of Azukides natural peptides, which have shown to be responsible for the antioxidant effects of the ingredient”.
Lubrizol says testing has
shown Xpozuki biotech ingredient to provide skin, scalp and hair protection, defence and repair from exposome damage. In addition, it offers ,ore
protected skin barrier and improved skin appearance, including a more even and brighter skin tone, minimized skin redness and improved surface texture irregularities. Finally, it is said to improve
multiethnic hair vitality with less split ends, improve hair fibre alignment and curl definition, and reduce hair frizz and volume.
Sederma unleashes 'hero' retinol capsule
French cosmetic active ingredient producer Sederma has launched ReVitAlide, a lipid submicron particle carrying 3% active retinol. The company says the so-
called hero encapsulated retinol is a water dispersible suspension designed to respond to market demand for stable, easy-to- formulate, highly bioavailable and well-tolerated retinol. This encapsulated form developed in collaboration
