decrease in wrinkle volume in responder volunteers in both target groups as described above. We deducted these numbers from the absolute volume numbers measured for forehead wrinkles in the two groups. Then, we drew ageing lines for without DABBA (black) and with DABBA (red), assuming linear ageing progression. Connecting the 35-year age point on the black line horizontally with the red line would suggest a delay of about five years for visible wrinkles. We also replicated our mathematical
modelling in photographic images to show how someone aged 35 would look at age 40 if they used DABBA. This is illustrated in Figure 6.
Volunteers’ feedback For the final part of the study, volunteers were asked to complete a self-assessment questionnaire on skin-feel and perceptions. This feedback revealed that 97% of the 50
to 65-year-olds and 88% of the 21 to 35-year olds who had applied a DABBA formulation reported that their skin felt smooth and 93% of the 50 to 65-year-olds and 84% of the 21 to 35-year olds reported that their skin felt supple. Additionally, 83% of 50 to 65- year olds and 92% of 21 to 35-year olds in the DABBA groups also reported that they felt relaxed after one month of applying the product.
Conclusion With technology and social media empowering people to research their options in detail, many consumers are exploring new limits to achieve the looks they desire and they expect visible and immediate results. When it comes to signs of skin ageing,
such as lines and wrinkles, a growing number of younger consumers are taking action now to prevent and delay these signs rather than waiting to reverse them in later life.

Synthetic peptides are a clean and
sustainable answer to growing demand for high-efficacy solutions that are backed by scientific evidence. They also meet requirements for consumers looking for vegan and environmentally friendly cosmetic alternatives. DSM has used its 60 years of expertise in
synthetic peptides to conduct a new study on two age groups using its established active SYN-AKE (DABBA) which is already proven to reduce the appearance of mimic wrinkles in women over 50. Through image acquisition of biological
mothers and daughters, using a VISIA CR system, the company is able to show the progression of mimic wrinkles. Additionally, its latest study data and
findings provide a strong indication that as well as reducing the appearance or mimic wrinkles in women aged 50-65, DABBA could also help delay the progression of

therefore help meet the needs of consumers under the age of 35 who are looking for sustainable and anti-ageing skin care solutions that prevent signs of ageing.
