HAIR CARE 69

such as straightening or curling irons, its protection is a growing consumer request. In particular, environmental stress raises concerns since global urban population is expected to grow approximately 1.63% per year between 2020 and 2025, and 1.44% per year between 2025 and 2030 (Global Health Observatory (GHO) data).19 While skin owns multiple intrinsic

mechanisms of protection, hair melanin is often not enough to ensure the right protection of cuticle and cortex. Therefore, it is important to supply hair with ingredients able to protect it and maintain its wellbeing. Of course, hair requires a blend of

cosmetic ingredients, film-formers, UV filters and antioxidants. Among these latter, natural and sustainable solutions can fit perfectly with consumers’ demand. Olea-HT 10 has demonstrated to be an

effective ingredient to counteract oxidative stress from the afore-mentioned threats, strengthening the antioxidant defences, reducing oxidative irreversible damage (carbonylation) of hair proteins and protecting hair shaft. It is a versatile ingredient that can be

added to several kind of hair care products (shampoos, conditioners, masks, serums, sprays) and it is particularly suitable for clean and eco-conscious formulations. PC
