Multi-ethnic hair repair

Seppic has launched Xylishine, a new bio-inspired hair repairing agent and moisturiser designed to enhance the shine of multi- ethnic hair types.

Xylishine is an association of bio-based sugars mainly from wood and from the brown algae, Pelvetia canaliculata. The sugars, derived from wood hemicellulose, have a high water absorption capacity. They strengthen the structure of the cell walls, and on the other hand contribute to the flexibility

of the plant. In Pelvetia, sugars are in charge of maintaining the vital hydration of the seaweed for its survival during the dryness of the summer. As soon as the autumn arrives, the ‘golden hair’ of the seaweed is instantly filled with water to regain all its vitality. Inspired by nature, the composition of Xylishine is able to reproduce the natural properties of the living to restore the shine and strength of the hair. Xylishine is designed to

restore shine, hydration and

strength to multi-ethnic hair. Two in vivo ‘Hair Salon’ studies were performed: one leave-on (lotion) on Brazilian hair and one rinse-off (shampoo) on Caucasian hair. Xylishine at 3% significantly boosts hair shine and helps define curls . At 3% it restores the deep

moisture of damaged hair: up to + 30% hydration in the core of the fibre, also tested on strands in leave-on and rinse-off application. By closing the scales, true barriers to dehydration, Xylishine repairs the hair fibre and restores all its shine.

Natural solutions against screen light ageing

Screens emit very strong blue light rays, also known as High Energy Visible (HEV) light, that can have negative consequences on our health. As we are becoming more and more dependent of our screens, the more we are overexposed to these rays. Blue light irradiation is a new form of pollution, indoor pollution, that must be seriously considered. Thanks to advanced

research and testing, the following three products from

Sederma have all demonstrated the ability to protect skin against the harmful effects of screen light by reducing the generation of radical oxygen species, oxidative attacks and pro-inflammatory mediator release.
