High performance silicone fluid blend

A new high performance phenyl modified silicone fluid blend, BRB PB 152 (INCI: Trimethyl Pentaphenyl Trisiloxane (and) Diphenylsiloxyl Phenyl Trimethicone (and) Caprylyl Methicone), is a high performance silicone fluid blend, specially designed to achieve a high refractive and provide a pleasant and soft sensorial skin-feel. The multi- faceted benefits of this fluid blend make it extremely attractive in colour cosmetics as well as skin care and hair care. BRB PB 152 is used to provide high glossiness to formulation due to its high refractive index (RI: 1.52).

Used with a good

suspending agent, BRB PB 152 can be used to formulate oil-in- lotion toner products which provide superior aesthetics and sensory benefits to skin. Moreover, abundant oil bubbles suspended in the toner provide outstanding aesthetic to the formulation. Excellent gloss with low tackiness on lip colour formulations can be achieved with BRB PB 152. Together with BRB TMS resin series they are able to provide long lasting effect. BRB PB 152 is used to enhance the

appearance and feel of

hair by providing body and glossiness and to improve the texture of damaged hair. It can be formulated into water based hair spray with suspended oil droplets of BRB PB 152 in formulation. No shake is required during application to make it

convenient for the end user. BRB PB 152 can also be used in hair conditioners, serums and treatments.

BRB PB 152 is intended for supply in the Asia Pacific region only.

Expansion to beauty food range

Naturex has extended its ‘Beauty Food’ range of natural skin care solutions made with ingredients derived from plants found in the food chain. The new ‘Energy Boost’ collection comprises two concepts formulated with cornelian and acerola cherry extracts. Cornelian cherry (Cornus

officinalis Sieb. et Zucc) is an antioxidant-rich fruit used in traditional Chinese medicine that is in tune with two of the major current trends in cosmetics – superfruits and Asianification. It is not as widely known as some other ingredients in Asian medicine, which means it presents an

opportunity for innovation and differentiation. With its deep knowledge and long experience of working with plants, Naturex believes cornelian cherry is certain to become a highly successful beauty ingredient in the near future – just like cranberry a few years ago. The antioxidant power and

skin care benefits of cornelian cherry are well established. In vitro studies have shown that it stimulates by +710% the production of catalase, an enzyme that protects the skin from oxidative damage. It also stimulates by +120% the production of glutathione reductase, an enzyme that is key to maintaining the oxidative

balance of the cells. Cornelian cherry has also been shown to inhibit lipid peroxidation by - 40%. It is a genuinely ‘super’ superfruit that is also known to deliver soothing properties and enhance skin radiance. The acerola cherry

(Malpighia glabra L.) is well known for its very high vitamin C content and antioxidant power. It is widely recognised as the star among today’s trendy superfruits. Sourced in Brazil through a highly sustainable supply chain, Naturex’s acerola powder extract has been shown to have 26 times more antioxidant activity than orange.
