Detoxification and protection against pollution and UV

Air pollution, caused mainly by industry, vehicle fumes, cigarette smoke together with high energy sunlight (UV), are known to have a detrimental effect on our skin and body, starting from our appearance, such as early signs of ageing including wrinkles, pigmentation spots, disrupted skin barrier, overall dryness and skin imperfections. Pollution and smog are not a single substance, but are rather a highly complex mixture of molecules and particles that are breathed in and absorbed through the skin. A major unmet need of the industry is for
effective, natural and safe means to protect the body and the skin specifically as our outer protective layer against pollution to which it is exposed daily.
The ability of the skin to defend itself against pollution is limited. One may assist with detoxifying/anti-pollution agents that support and help fight the damage inflicted. IBR has developed a multiple approach system that intends to address the damage

caused by pollution, by: l Reinforcing and strengthening the skin barrier
l Protecting from and preventing the penetration of pollutants and UV (shielding)
l Detoxifying and activating detoxification systems to neutralise pollutants and the harmful molecules that are breathed in or passed through the skin barrier
l Repairing and reversing pollution- and sun-generated damage. The suggested solutions are presented
in the form of three products that come to address one or more aspects of protection, prevention and repair. These products are:
l IBR-Gapture® an aqueous jojoba leaf l IBR-Pristinizer®
extract that reinforces and repairs the skin barrier, improves cell cohesion, keeps moisture in and pollutants out - an aqueous Asteriscus
graveolens extract that can stimulate detoxification systems in the skin and
increases healthy cell survival and resistance to pollution. IBR-Pristinizer helps boost the anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant capacity of the skin cells to re-establish the skin’s beautiful appearance. l IBR-Phyto(flu)ene®
- a platform of
products based on phytoene and phytofluene, the colourless carotenoids, both as topical cosmetic actives and dietary products for beauty from within. The phytoene and phytofluene in the products can assist with skin protection against UVA & UVB, preventing oxidative damage via their anti-oxidant capacity as well as proven ability to repair skin imperfections.
