BUSINESS BUSINESS ENTERPRISE CLUB
In its first year of running The Matravers Enterprise Club for Key Stage 3 has been busy organising end of term event, with each becoming more successful than the previous.
It started in December 2017 with a Christmas card delivery service. With the delivery service turning a small profit it allowed the club to reinvest into a Valentines Rose venture.
The roses were a huge success with a turnover of well beyond £100, sell out the 100 rose stock in a matter of days.

CSE TALKS
We were delighted to welcome Angus Macpherson, Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon, to hear talks on child sexual exploitation.
As part of our superb PSHE programme we aim to ensure that all students understand how to succeed and thrive within the modern world. Part of this is supporting students to understand risks and dangers around child sexual exploitation.
Angus Macpherson, Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon, said: “I have long felt that schools have a vitally important role to play in preparing young people for life - and not just for exams. The modern world offers a wealth of opportunities for young people, but it also presents risks and dangers that people of my generation didn’t have to contend with. I was delighted to visit Matravers School and to sit in on a session for Year 9 and 10 students on child sexual exploitation. It was expertly led by PCSO Al Byrne who provided his audience with really helpful pointers - and some difficult messages – but with a light touch where possible. I had a

All participated in the organisation, sell and marketing of both the Christmas Cards and Valentines Roses, with many of the group presenting their ideas to The Head and their Year Groups in assembly.
With M-Fest fast approaching the group were given the brief of organising an event that had never been attempted before and would provide a challenge to arrange. After much deliberation it was decided to run an Escape Room. This would see a group of students solving problems to escape from a class room in a given period of time.
The difficulty has been to create the puzzles and story line for the Escape Room. Hopefully this will be a success in terms of sales figures and enjoyment for the participants.
