Year 9 (continued)
It’s been a turbulent year again for 9.4. Hormones have hit us hard but our solidarity and determination have pulled us through the year and we finish in July as a group of students who come together when facing adversity.
This year we have been lucky enough to welcome 2 new students to our team. Jack and Kyle have become part of our 9.4 family so quickly that I often forget they haven’t been with us since Year 7!
We continue to excel with our extra curricular activities, from Lilia’s main part in Beauty in the Beast to Nick’s footballing success and from Lucy’s dedication to CCF to Alex’s charity haircut (even if the full head of curls were back in a matter of weeks!). I would love to mention each member of the tutor by name as every single one of them have given me so many reasons to be proud of them throughout the year but I just don’t have the space!
Know that I am very proud of the young people you are becoming and I am looking forward to helping you through the next 2 years (they’re going to be tough!).
Thank you 9.4 for always knowing how to put a smile on my face. You are my school day family and I wouldn’t change a thing! (Although shirts that managed to stay tucked in all day would be wonderful...)
9.5, MR BURGAN
Last year 9.6 were quite simply the best tutor group in the school and they have continued their trailblazing behaviour! Every single student has pushed themselves to be the best they can be with the intention of being fully prepared for life at GCSE in Year 10.
Students have been successful inside and outside the classroom through a range of activities including sport, the school musical, dance events and drama performances. This success has been recognised through numerous wins of the achievement point competition, so much so that we are pretty close to being offered shares in haribo. We are also flying high in the numeracy competition and all the students are using their best Maths wits to claim the star prize for the class. Of course in order to achieve such outstanding outcomes you have to be in it to win it.
9.5 have been fantastic this year and have responded well to all the challenges which have been put in front of them! With the changes in tutor I have been massively impressed with the maturity of the students in order to adjust to the new routines.
The majority of 9.5 have been consistently getting it right all year round! Parker Bielanski, Luke Crockford- Ward, Andrew De-Koning, Emma Hewitt-Hancock, Luke Morris, Ben Till and Ellie Tugwell have been behaving consistently well with minimal behaviour points. However, Freya Nossiter has not been given a single behaviour point which is a credit to her hard working and happy self!
Other special mentions include Rob Ayres who has been massively turned a corner with his attitude in recent months which has reflected in his achievement

We have an amazing attendance record and Katie Williams still has 100% attendance! My favourite part of this year so far has been watching the pupils grow up into mature young people and the development of their confidence and emergence of their sense of humour. The change has been really noticeable during meetings on pupil progress day or conversations in class regarding progress where they are now taking feedback, acting on it and then asking for further guidance to achieve their targets.
9.6 have had a really successful year and I can’t wait to see them make their first dynamic steps into their GCSE in September.

points and actually cracking a smile in tutor!
The special mentions could go on as 9.5 have been a pleasure to work with in such a short space of time, which has reflected recently on their late challenge for the best tutor group award! May this positivity and great attitude continue into year 10 and beyond!
