YEAR 9 A WORD FROM MISS CHESTERS

Year 9 have completed another year in their educational journey with great achievements and success. Challenges have, of course, been faced over the last year but those experiences will help to prepare these wonderful students for the greater challenge ahead, the start of GCSEs.

Throughout 2017/18 Year 9 students have embraced many challenges and taken up opportunities provided – a large proportion of the students now engage with clubs and extra activities. From watching students commit to their roles in CCF, to treading the boards for our upcoming production of We Will Rock You, to singing with the choir and competing at Area athletics. We have students who choose to support others by becoming Inclusion Ambassadors and students who are currently planning their latest venture with the Business and Enterprise group. They really are broadening their horizons and taking up the opportunities on offer for them here at Matravers. Of course all of this is on top of the fabulous engagement with learning!

The end of term will see lots of opportunities for celebrating success including Sports day and MFest along with our end of term celebration assembly.

As we enter Year 10 students will be working towards achievements which will open doors for the future, to experiences and opportunities which will shape choices and lead students to successful outcomes. I look forward to continuing working with this fabulous group of young people and seeing them grow into ambitious young adults.

I wish you all a relaxing and enjoyable summer. Enjoy it!

PERFECT BEHAVIOUR

Massive congratulations to all of the following students who have made it to this point in the school year without having a single behaviour point. A clear indication of their hard work, motivation and dedication to learning and positive attitude. Excellent behaviour was celebrated by a reward breakfast this term. Fantastic!
