PRIMARY OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMME

On Tuesday the 17th of July, Matravers hosted the first ever Year 5 taster day. This was a fantastic opportunity for our Primary Feeder schools to come to Matravers for the day and experience some lessons. Coming to us for the day was Bitham Brook, Westbury Leigh, Westbury Juniors Chapmanslade and Dilton Marsh.

The day started with a short assembly in the hall. Followed by 45 minute tasters of some secondary school lessons. The students were lucky enough to experience Dance, Drama, Cadets, Science, Music Geography and Design.

In Dance the students pretended to be superheroes, while in Drama they got the chance to experience some physical theatre. In Geography they created windsocks and in Science they were able to do some fantastic experiments. Meanwhile in cadets the students were put through their paces, army style!

At lunch the students got to experience some tasty food cooked by our amazing catering team, before heading off for one final lesson.

The day ended with an assembly where every student received a Matravers goody bag. This was stocked with some Matravers stationery and a certificate for each student.

Our Primary feeders really enjoyed the day and so did Matravers.
