Urban One and Colonial Downs have been selected as the chosen operator by the Resort Casino Evaluation Panel in Richmond.


ONE Casino + Resort is a US$600m, 300,000sq.ft resort with 100,000sq.ft of gaming space that will boast 2,000 slots and 110 table games.

New York - JCM installs sports ticker solution JCM Global has installed an ultra-high resolution sports ticker Digital Signage Solution at Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel, Long Island, New York, suspended from the ceiling at the Casino Bar on the property’s second floor. JCM utilised a DSS MAX-R 1.9mm modular display solution comprised of slim, individual panels that can be joined together to enhance virtually any space. Since each DSS MAX-R panel is super slim and light, they can be used in an almost limitless variety of executions, from wall-mounted to suspended from the ceiling. JCM’s DSS MAX-R panels have an extra wide viewing angle of 160°, exceptional picture quality, seamless stitching, and are switchable in real-time.

While this is the first DSS installation at Jake’s 58, JCM has enjoyed a relationship with the property since it first opened in 2017. Jake’s 58’s casino floor is protected by JCM’s iVIZION bill validator and ICB Intelligent Cash Box system on its 1,000 EGMs.


US - Revenue falls for Mohegan Gaming Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment saw an 11.5 per cent fall in revenue for the second quarter at its resorts, including Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, Mohegan Sun Pocono in Plains Township, Pennsylvania, the MGE Niagara Resorts in Niagara Falls, Canada and the Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in Nevada.


Income from operations came in at $44.9m compared to a loss from operations of $106.3m in the prior year period, due primarily to a $126.6m impairment charge at Mohegan Sun Pocono. Adjusted EBITDA was $80.7m vs. $51.3m in the prior year period, a 57.3 per cent increase.


The company's second quarter results were against easier comparisons due to company-wide COVID-19 related property closures in the comparable prior-year quarter. When compared to the second quarter of 2019, consolidated net revenues declined 9.4 per cent, while Adjusted EBITDA increased 20.1 per cent.

Urban One and Colonial Downs have been selected as the chosen operator by the Resort Casino Evaluation Panel in Richmond, allowing the consortium to move forward with ONE Casino + Resort, a US$600m, 300,000sq.ft resort with 100,000 sq.ft of gaming space.


In a final round, Urban One and Colonial Downs beat off a competing bid from Te Cordish Cos. having already seen off proposals from Pamunkey Indian Tribe, Wind Creek Hospitality, Golden Nugget Hotels & Casinos and Bally’s.

Inspired Interactive goes live in the Michigan market

Inspired’s remote gaming server (RGS) platform has launched in Michigan. An initial batch of Interactive games is now live, with more titles to follow shortly.

Te casino will boast 2,000 slots and 110 table games, including poker and a sports book, a 250-room hotel with the option of expanding to 600 rooms, 15 bars & restaurants, 3,000 capacity event center, 200 entertainment events annually and TV & Radio production studios.


Te final decision on whether the casino will see the light of day will be given to Richmond voters on Election Day with a casino referendum on the ballot. Ten, with a simple majority voting yes, Richmond would join four other Virginia cities that approved their own casino projects in 2020. Richmond could join other Virginia cities; Bristol, Danville, Norfolk, and Portsmouth in voting in favour of casino gambling.


Urban One is a Washington, DC, media company with four radio stations in Richmond. To help run the casino side of things for the proposed resort, Urban One will rely on Peninsula Pacific Entertainment. PPE owns Colonial Downs racetrack in Virginia. It also operates Rosie’s Gaming Emporiums, which are historical horse racing (HHR) parlors located throughout the commonwealth.

With a population of approximately 10 million people, Michigan remains a targeted iGaming market for Inspired. In April 2021, Michigan reported $94.9m from Internet gaming gross receipts, which compares to New Jersey’s Internet gaming gross receipts of $107.8m in the same month.


Te Michigan Gaming Control Board granted Inspired a provisional licence to supply its online games in January 2021.

Wazdan has received a transactional waiver from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) to launch a selection of its online and mobile games in New Jersey. Te supplier is now able to take its titles live across the state, including 9 Lions, Larry the Leprechaun and Sizzling 777 Deluxe, as well as Power of Gods: Te Pantheon, Magic Stars 3, and Magic Fruits Deluxe.
