betting on live dealer games – which in many ways is very different to what our competitors bring to the table. What this means is that we’re engaging largely different player segments - sports fans in particular - who enjoy the live aspect and the thrill of taking on the bookie with odds-based action.

100 is just a number, but you have to keep in mind what this means. The number represents 50 per cent organisational growth thereby requiring operational excellence to implement such a huge number of people. Executing such a strategic initiative requires everyone in the company to do their best whilst considering the implications for culture, communications and processes.

From a commercial perspective, when we enter a market that Evolution is already present in, or vice versa, there is little cross- over. In South Africa for example, there is an overlap of 15-20 per cent. Our respective product offerings are more complimentary as they offer a different experience. Tere’s no doubt that Evolution is the clear number one in the Live Casino vertical alongside a few others and we monitor events closely to help make the right decisions in order to be part of its growth as the world’s best live dealer supplier.

BetGames has set about hiring over 100 new employees in a major recruitment drive alongside the opening of a new Malta office. What is key to the success of such an aggressive growth strategy?

When I came in, we launched a strategy project with some external consultants that led

to the creation of a three-year strategy that challenges and overhauls everything from the product spread to commercial approach. Making these significant changes without having people around you on a daily basis and initially grasping what's going on in terms of change has been really tricky, indeed challenging, for the success of the project. You can have as many virtual meetings as you want, but all the informal communication flow one has with face-to-face is completely lacking - and that cannot be replaced with Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

Regarding the recruitment drive specifically, 100 is just a number, but you have to keep in mind what this means for BetGames. Te number represents 50 per cent organisational growth thereby requiring operational excellence to implement such a huge number of people. Executing such a strategic initiative requires everyone in the company to do their best whilst considering the implications for culture, communications and processes.
