An award-winning new concept is being released to the RC model market and a range of iconic model kit licences featuring strongly, including Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and Virgin Galactic; Revell has nearly 100 new land, sea and air releases in the pipeline. Recently featured in Germany’s largest-selling newspaper, Bild, the Revellutions Dust Rider has been
voted number three in the Top Ten Toys of 2012, awarded by the German Association of Toy and Game Retailers (BVS). As a key territory for the company’s growth in the hobby RC category, the UK launch of the Revellutions RC brand in 2013 will be backed by heavyweight marketing, including TV and press advertising plus continuity PR. Revellutions is a professional range of 1:14 or 1:18 RC cars for 8-12-year-old boys, including buggies, monster trucks and muscle cars. All models are ready-to-run with 2.4 GHz technology and are dust- and water-resistant. The 1:14 pistol grip RC controller can be converted for left- or right-handed driving; kids can play against each other in a driving game via a Revellutions website. This video game can be played online as the actual car, using the 1:14 Pistol Grip RC controller via a USB dongle. New for the Revell Control brand in 2013 includes the Quadrocopter; a series of credit card-sized helicopters; and an authentic Florida-style Swamp Boat used in the Everglades. The Revell plastic model kits brand introduces a variety of new releases in 2013 for modelling enthusiasts and newcomers to the hobby. The beginners range features Star Wars Easykits in newly designed, see-through packaging, as well as
rarely seen model kits from the Battlestar Galactica series 2003-2010. The space theme is extended with the new USS. Enterprise kit from the brand new motion picture ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ and the Space Ship Two & Carrier White Knight Two from Virgin Galactic. For experienced modellers, air, sea and land kit releases include the newly-tooled 1:32 Royal Navy
Westland Lynx helicopter; the latest version of the ‘Jumbo Jet’, the Boeing 747 – 8 in 1:144 scale; the 1:32 Bae Hawk T.1 RAF; the 4ft-long, 1:72 scale US Navy Skipjack nuclear submarine; and the 1:25 scale Dodge Viper SRT. Fun and education are combined with Revell’s newer brands, including X-Ray, a range of snap-together anatomy models.
