www.john-crane.co.uk New introductions and line extensions for 2013 have been designed to take the timeless appeal of John Crane to a wider audience. The Canadian-based pre-school brand B Line’s packaging is recycled, reversible, and turns into gift wrap. The B Line Symphony has won the US Toy of the Year award for 2012; there are 13 instruments arranged around an orchestra pit. The child picks a song from the 15 melodies available, and they then move the model of the instrument into the pit and the symphony begins. If the instrument picked is not meant to be in that melody then it doesn’t play. Different lights show the various sections of the orchestra and an accompanying book includes teachers’ notes and information on lyrics and composers. Bristle Blocks is an easy-to-assemble construction
toy which allows kids to build using their own imagination or following the designs provided. There are themed sets including a Jungle Adventure and a Farm set and Bristle Blocks Builders Buckets which provide reusuable storage buckets for sets from 50 pieces up. Tidlo, the wooden toy collection with timeless appeal, has a focus on vintage. 32 new lines are added to the brand, with new themed Tidlo animal illustrations which run across ranges to enhance continuity and bring the collection together. These new themed Tidlo animal illustrations, created by award-winning graphic designer Emma Talbot, run across the Jungle Animal Table and Chairs, a sturdy study and play place with quality crafted animal faces on the backs of the chairs. The Tidlington House is a dolls house that can open up from the front and the back; the roof detaches, then reverses and clips onto the front of the house to form a garden. The Three in One Pram’s fabric hood imitates a real pram, whilst the cradle clips out and reverses to make a pushchair, or comes off completely to form a rocking cradle. The pram joins the Two in One Cradle and the Folding High Chair.
The Sevi, Trudi, Pintoy, GoGo and Lilliputiens
ranges will also be on show with range extensions for 2013.

These mini battling cyborg robots bring motion and action to life as kids shake and punch with the nun-chuck-style remote controls and fi ght against other robotic opponents. Up to 20 robots can battle at once in the battling arena set. Tomy has secured the Pokémon
Master Toy licence for fi ve years, and will be fi rst to market with themed toys based on the video game sequels, Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2. Sculptured fi gures are compatible with all playsets to encourage repeat purchase. Pokédex Tags, aimed at younger children, accompany each purchase. Tomica is aimed at train fans and combines trains, vehicles, construction and role-play. New
trigger technology allows vehicles to transform without children having to touch them. In 2013 Chuggington’s new system and die-cast layouts can be elevated. With new episodes set to be aired on CBeebies in Autumn 2013, Tomy’s range of Chuggington will be backed by a PR and marketing campaign. Tomy has secured the global Master Toy licence for Dinosaur Train. With more products to come later in the year, Tomy’s range will be heavily backed by Nick Junior. Puzzle Blocks encourage quiet play, and hero TV line Neil the Seal gets little ones moving. Aqua Fun guarantees a laugh in the bath. New hero products in the Aqua Fun range are Surfi n’ Beaver and Turtle Tots. Aquadoodle uses water, not ink. Celebrating its 10th birthday in 2013, Aquadoodle is set to expand in 2013 with new products to complement the existing range. Licensed lines include Peppa Pig and a Hello Kitty Travel Drawing Bag. Tomy is stepping up its Disney’s Winnie the Pooh range with key marketing support from Disney.
From bath toys to a fabric Pooh & Friends Soft Discovery Book, there’s also the Dream Clouds cot mobile, Starry Dreams Lightshow and Cuddle n Glow Pooh. Bounce Bounce Tigger, coming in Autumn 2013, raps and dances. Lamaze will enter into new categories in 2013. Nightlights, mobiles and feeding cups are just some of the lines being launched this year, alongside new soft stage-based developmental toys. Tomy’s Gacha licensed collection of pocket money toys welcomes new characters from Monsters
University, Planes from Disney, and app characters from Where’s my Water. Marvel will also have a strong presence. 2013 sees a new range of items under the John Deere banner, including new characters and playsets. The Big Scoop Large Tractor heads up the new Sandbox portfolio and, with all terrain capability is the 42921 John Deere Monster Treads RC Tractor. The Big Farm range welcomes the fi rst JCB item in the Big Farm range; the JCB Loadall. The Britain’s Farm Toys collection increases with New Holland T6 and T7 tractors, John Deere 6R tractors and a JCB Loadall joining the range in 1:32 scale. A Ford TW range, John Deere 50 Series and the JCB 3C Mark III model join the Heritage and Collectables section in 2013.
