www.thepuppetcompany.com The Puppet Company’s puppets come with a specially-designed anti-tangle hand controller that allows the strings to be quickly untangled if they get in a mess. Weighted feet help keep them stable when performing and there is a choice of popular characters from fairytales, including Wizards, Jesters, Princess and Knights etc. Each marionette is supplied in a beautiful box to show them off to their very best. The side of the box has clear and concise instructions on how to get started. Another new collection is the
Traditional Story boxed sets. Each set contains a hard-backed story book and all the fi nger puppet characters to bring the story to life. The books are published by The Puppet Company so the illustrations match the puppets in the sets. Popular stories such as Billy Goats Gruff, Three Little Pigs and Cinderella all feature in this nine boxed story collection. Supplied in strong reusable boxes that are easy to display on either a shelf or slat wall.
The company has been revising some of its classic collections, including the Puppet Buddies. These large- and medium-sized fi gurative puppets have always been popular in the Education Sector and the new look faces will appeal to retail customers as well. Contoured faces and embroidered eyes give these puppets tremendous visual appeal and they have crisp mouth movements for budding ventriloquists. There is a range of eight different characters in three different skin tones and two sizes with beautifully designed clothes. Following on from the success of
the Giant Bird collection, the company has produced Giant Marionette birds. There are three different birds to choose from and all of them have new easy-to- untangle controllers. The launch of The Puppet Company
LLC in the USA just over a year ago has added both volume and turnover resulting in the need to recruit extra staff both in the UK and USA. The Puppet Company now has a presence in toy retailers across the UK and Europe. Sales in Australia continue to grow and commissions from other companies to make bespoke puppets saw sales jump in 2012.
