Dangerous Thoughts Theatre Company Celebrity Culture/Prodigy-‘Breathe’
“Creatives assemble!”…and so we did. Dangerous Thoughts Theatre Company got together and discussed celebrity culture and how it affects people and their decisions in life. We looked at the point of view of the celebrities who are stuck in the spotlight trying to find a shadow to hide behind. We discussed how we could express the feelings of the celebrities and show how they are burdened by the whips and chains of stardom. Once again we prepared to take Friday morning assembly by storm!
We collaborated our physical theatre skills and the track ‘Breathe’ by Prodigy to engage our audience and deliver the message of what it’s like to be hunted everywhere you go. We exaggerated very grotesque images using our bodies and facial expression, and had our audience gripped to their seats as they watched in awe the fantastic set of physical theatre skills performed in front of their very eyes. It was an overall gritty performance from Dangerous Thoughts, and only one of many more still to come!
Being apart of Dangerous Thoughts Theatre Company is a privilege to say the least, and to have worked with a group of amazing people for the past two years has been absolutely fantastic. I’m so proud to say that I’m a part of such a tight unit. It takes complete and utter trust to work so closely as a team, with all of us knowing each other inside out; and working between our strengths and weaknesses is key to what makes us an ever growing team. As the end of the two year BTEC Course looms ever closer and we get ready to pass the torch down to the next crew of Dangerous Thoughts one person who we will be leaving behind is Miss Walley, who has been there every step of the way. None of this would have been possible without her!
