Well, the time has come, the year I have to leave Queen Ethelburga’s College to move onward in my life. Being at this school has been more than just an experience, but a wonderful collection of memories that I will always carry with me. I would like to thank all the teachers I have had, especially the in the Maths Department, who have always had a place for me in the Maths office. I would also like to thank everyone I have had the pleasure of knowing, as each and every one of you has added so much happiness to my fabulous life here. I have never had a day when I haven’t bumped in to someone that I could have a giggle
and a dance with, which I have been so thankful for on hard days. I will miss you all, and will be thinking of you constantly. Enjoy your time at Queen Ethelburga’s as I have, and I am sure I will see you all again soon when I come back and visit. (Yes, you can’t get rid of me that easily!)

you will not succeed in touching them with your hands. But like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them you will reach your destiny

I have been at QE for three years. I was shocked when I first arrived. What a beautiful college! During my first year in QE, my English was really poor. I decided to study on the foundation course which is the preparation for A-Levels, BTECs and the IB in the sixth form. The foundation course was really valuable, I improved my English a lot by doing the course. After one year, I joined Year 12. I had two choices in front of me, to take A Level/BTEC courses, or the International Baccalaureate Diploma. I chose to study the IB Diploma and I became the first Chinese IB student in our school. I have to say that it has been a challenge! We had to choose six subjects and take two compulsory sections - CAS (Creativity, Action and Service) and TOK (Theory of Knowledge). We also had to complete a 4000 word Extended Essay. However, the IB had lots of advantages as well and I have enjoyed it. Best of all, I found out that universities like IB Diploma students! I applied for Economics at Cambridge, and was offered a place by Hughes Hall. I have received a lot of support and help from QE and I hope that I have paid something back to the school through my role of Deputy Head Boy. I am going to miss QE.
