The end of the first half term saw the whole school joinetogether for the school birthday celebrations. QE having lunch in the Undercroft which was all laid out and the chairs adorned with yellow and blue balloons. It is always nice to welcome back an ex student to reminisce about their time at QE.


The highlight of the second half of term has to have been the Bonfire Night celebrations here on site. There was a magnificent firework display with the traditional goodie bags given to all the children (old and young) as they arrived. Blue candy floss was a big hit with the students and it was very easy to spot those who had indulged!


This term also saw our first ever Bounce-a-thon – as described for you by Hannah Vernon.


18 Hour Bounce-a-thon


On the 19 September 09, sixteen Year 11 GCSE PE students took part in an 18 hour trampoline bounce to raise money for Help For Heroes and for some new trampolining equipment. The aim was to keep bouncing for 18 hours with no breaks from 6:30pm on the 19th until 12:30pm the next day. We did this in the Genesis Centre where most of us enjoyed practicing our netball skills or in Kim and Becky’s case getting very close to the TV screen while playing the Xbox - they were VERY into the game.


We started all hyped up in our pyjamas including Miss P; she had to be the most excited one out of us all! We started with everyone doing 5 minute bounces to get warmed up; of course Josh was the first one on and was bored within 2 minutes. We had pizza for tea as everyone thought this was a good idea. I
