front of an audience, but perhaps the most significant new development within the department has been the foundation of a new theatre company, Dangerous Thoughts, at the core of the BTEC Performing Arts Course. This company has ventured into many areas of the performing arts and has provided the platform for students to explore every facet of their theatrical talents. Excellent performances have been seen from Shanice Childerley, James Lumsden, Georgina Dunn, Max Scully, Tom Fisher, Freddy Taylor-Shearer, to mention but a few. To represent the company I am in a moment going to ask Tom Fisher to come to the stage, a student who has turned in some fine performances on this course and is representative of the progress that the company has made. With Tom I am going to ask another student to join us who has made an immense contribution to Drama this year. She has demonstrated excellent teamwork skills and has encouraged younger members of her group by setting an example of positivity and professional approach, but she has rounded off her achievement by gaining the much coveted NITEC Drama Examination Gold Award. This student is Georgina Wilkinson. I would like to welcome Tom and Georgina to the stage.
Sport is an area in the school that engenders a huge amount of enthusiasm from a very large number of students. Our fixture lists have expanded and the quality of opposition that we have faced this year has improved and our students have risen to this challenge. Participation in events such as the Stoneyhurst 7s and the Rosslyn Park 7s by students in a number of age groups is indicative of this higher profile. There has been great success in Athletics with six students being chosen to represent the North of England in their year group at the ISA National Championships in Birmingham next Wednesday. The students are Luca Peterson, selected for the shot-put, Raffen Cherrington for the discus, Luke Etson for the fifteen hundred metres, Devon Matheson for the eight hundred metres, Anna Cornforth for the fifteen hundred metres and Sophie Warwick for the Discus. But as with music, there has been one student who has stood out
