People work in all kinds of different jobs in order to earn money. Jobs, also known as economic activities, can be broken down into three groups: primary, secondary and tertiary economic activities.

Primary economic activities: Those in which people get natural resources from the land or sea, e.g. farming
Secondary economic activities: Those in which people process or manufacture products, e.g. car manufacturing
Tertiary economic activities: Those that provide useful services for people, e.g. driving taxis
