Write a short report on a flood event that has occurred in your locality/ county/region.
Go to the Office of Public Works website www.floodmaps.ie. Using the search facility available (detailed below), type in your county and local area. Search for any floods that have occurred in your local area over the last number of years.

Select one flood event that has occurred in my local area in the last number of years.
Give the exact location, date and time of the flood event. If the grid reference is not given in the flood report, you can find it using www.gridreference.ie.
State the source and cause of the flood.
Give a minimum of one impact of the flood on local people or businesses.
I COULD:
Use the maps provided by floodmaps.ie to draw my own sketch map of the area affected by the flood.

Reflect on your work. Write down two things that you think you did well and one thing you could improve on.
Redrafting
Review the success criteria again and make sure you have met all of the requirements. Taking into account your self-assessment notes, review your work and make any necessary changes to your final piece of work.
