Make two 1 cm-long cuts into the ends of a straight straw. The cuts should be in line with each other.

Cut a triangle shape and a square shape from the card.
Place the cardboard triangle in one cut of the straw, and the cardboard square in the other cut, adding a little glue to hold them in place. It should now look like an arrow.

Fill your drinks container with the small rocks, and glue the lid of the container in place.

Turn the container upside down and stick a pared
pencil (lead-side in) through its centre. Glue the pencil in place if necessary.

Push the pin through the straw, exactly mid-way down its length, and then into the rubber head of the pencil. Use a compass to find North, South, East and West and write them onto the sides of the cup.
