18.5 Population Structure The population structure of a country can be displayed
using a population pyramid. Population pyramids show the differences between the numbers of males and females as well as the number or percentage of people in each age category (known as the age–sex structure).

A series of bars stacked on top of each other. The length of the bar shows the percentage of the population in a certain age group (sometimes it can show the number of people). The scale bar at the bottom allows you to measure these percentages.
