Adamstown is a new town development that was begun in February 2005 and is located 16 km west of Dublin city centre.

Adamstown was planned. It was created to specifically house up to 25,000 people.
The town consists of apartments, town housing and duplexes for people and families to live in.
It has a secondary school and two primary schools.
The Adamstown Industrial Estate was built to provide employment for the town.
Adamstown is connected to Dublin City by the M4 and M50 roads, by bus routes and by a train station.
