into cream at use levels that would be found in 3% natural origin delivery system The results show that N. gaditana and I. galbana extracts alone were able to reduce the amount of ROS generated by 39%, where the N. gaditana and I. galbana extracts that were in a double-encapsulated Bicosome were able to reduce ROS generation even further, by 124% (Figure 4). These results show both the effect that the N. gaditana and I. galbana extracts have in ROS reduction as well as the Bicosome’s role in keeping the microalgae actives protected and delivering them to the epidermis where they can be most effective.

Natural origin omega-3 delivery system – in vivo study A study was conducted with 20 adult volunteers, averaging 36 years old, all with chronic mild to moderate inflammatory acne and/or rosacea. Participants used a cream containing natural origin omega-3 delivery system at 3% twice a day over 30 days and the following measurements were carried out at 0 and 30 days under dermatological control. Visia® was used to evaluate changes in skin colour hyperpigmentation (freckles, melasma), red areas (vascular disorders due to acne, rosacea, spider veins, inflammation, presence of large pores and porphyrins), at the beginning and end of the study. Clinical evaluation, patient self-assessment and aesthetic evaluation of product in formulation was also performed. Results of the study are in Figure 5, demonstrating natural origin omega-3 delivery system’s capability to mitigate common skin conditions linked to chronically inflamed skin. referred to as ‘natural origin carotenoid-rich delivery system’) provides clinically proven anti- ageing benefits and has a double encapsulation which provides stabilisation of the active and protection against degradation.


Studies A study was performed with 20 female volunteers, 35-55 years old, with different skin types where they used a cream containing 3% natural origin carotenoid-rich delivery system as the sole active ingredient twice a day for 56 days. Measurements were recorded at 0, 14, 28


and 56 days under dermatological control where the focus was on antioxidant capacity, epidermis cell renewal, brightness, epidermal water loss, firmness, and wrinkles. Select results are in Figure 6 and Figure 7; please reach out to the authors for complete results.
