16 EVENT PREVIEW
NYSCC Suppliers’ Day: The event for emerging beauty
Annie Scully – NYSCC Suppliers’ Day, US
In a time of uncertainty there is one certainty for ingredient and formulation innovation: the NYSCC Suppliers’ Day, on 10-11 November at the Javits Convention Centre in New York City, along with a virtual component starting on 12 November. No other event in North America will provide the latest trends, scientific findings, breakthrough ingredients, raw materials and solutions that will invigorate formulations and accelerate beauty and personal care product developments. With ‘Embracing Beauty’ as its theme,
Suppliers’ Day will be a celebration of what we create. It will also focus on overcoming challenges and formulating for inclusivity and diversity, while inspiring unique and novel beauty and personal care products. The event will offer more than 30 hours of educational programming on the topics that are most pressing to those involved in formulations, sourcing and marketing. Suppliers’ Day also has an expansive exhibit
floor that will provide ample opportunity for social distancing and feature suppliers of ingredients, formulation, lab equipment, testing, regulatory solutions, services and more. Other highlights on the exhibit floor include the Future Chemists Workshop, the Presentation Theatre, a virtual pavilion and café, and University Row with schools showcasing their graduate and advanced programmes. A new Indie Brand Pavilion, with supplier accelerator programmes as the focus, will also be on the exhibit floor.
New educational programmes Indie 360° will focus on every angle of the business and bring together independent brand founders sharing their stories and experiences, including the challenges, opportunities and pathways to success. Mintel will speak on the current trends in the indie market and a ‘myth- busters’ session on ingredients, moderated by Luciana Coutinho of Luluble, will be a must-attend programme for all involved in new product development. Back to Powerful Beauty will be a ‘lunch and
learn’-style programme with Jennifer Karuletwa and Nicole Lannan of Peclers. The two leading consumer profiles for 2024 through Pecler’s Archestyle methodology, which provides an aspirational vision of consumers to reveal qualitative and targeted customer profiles, will be shared. Peclers will then translate these into future creative scenarios, including colour, colour harmonies, textures and ingredients,

on Conscious Inclusion. Research shows that diverse teams are better innovators and problem-solvers and as the workforce evolves, understanding how to connect and engage may become more challenging. This is where mindful communication skills can support and sustain an organisation’s diversity, inclusion and equity initiatives. Award-winning business communication strategist Shakira M. Brown will share how you can increase your awareness of difference using mindful communication techniques rooted in practical Zen philosophical concepts to build and maintain meaningful personnel relationships.
Hosted by the NYSCC Scientific Advisory
