France - Barrière to double gaming floor More than a year after the launch of a new public service delegation procedure (DSP), the municipal council of the commune of Ouistreham in the French region of Calvados has awarded the concession licence to the Barrière group, the current operator and the only candidate for its own succession.

Barrière will increase its slot quota from 148 to 200 machines, including 50 electronic terminals, compared to 34 currently. The group is also planning an investment of €1m to double its playing area and reach nearly 1,000 m2. The catering will also be reimagined, with a bistronomic kitchen, designed for 50 seats, but also the development of a bar and a space where casino customers can eat and play at the same time.

Barrière will also construct a 400-seat performance hall, for an investment of around €5.5m, in a second phase of work. This room will allow 'the reception of municipal life, for the life of the casino, and also to attract a new audience to the municipality.'

Six operators have lodged interest for a casino licence in Arnac-Pompadour, a town in the French region of Corrèze.

Since it was designated at the end of December as the location for a new casino, the town of Arnac-Pompadour in the French region of Corrèze has wasted no time in looking for an operator for the venue to be housed in the former Maison de la Santé de la Corrèze.

After having laid down markers on the places which could accommodate the casino, the old health centre of the city is still in pole position, the city launched a call for applications with six casino operators submitting a file to operate the future casino.

All of these offers will now be studied by the town hall teams in charge of this subject. In mid-June, two finalists will be designated and will be heard again to clarify their ambitions, before the municipality appoints, at the end of July, the operator of the premises for the next 20 years.

In a statement, the town Council said: "Located in the heart of Arnac-Pompadour, the casino promises to be a must-see. Here's what visitors can expect from this new attraction. Te casino will stand out for its offer of 75 slot machines,
