Net Entertainment’s acting head of Live Casino, Laszlo Keczer, believes that Live Casino online experience should be radically different from not only land-based, but the types of solutions with which we’ve become accustomed. It needs to be its own beast entirely...
Our approach is different to other online live deal- er casino providers. I believe our offering is unique in the marketplace. NetEnt lives and breathes online entertainment. Our live dealer product combines the legacy of NetEnt’s online RNG expertise with an additional live element. It’s very important for the dealer to understand that what we offer is beyond a traditional live dealer experience. They need to be aware of this and appreciate what the player can see. This isn’t a traditional land-based table gaming offering that’s been relocated online, this is an experience that has been targeted at and created for the online player.
I come from the operator side, where I was responsible for maintaining profitability of multi- ple casinos targeting the same markets. In that environment you need to establish different entertainment types for different player needs. Our vision is to offer different experiences within our live casino, which cater for every type of player. We have an offering for the more seasoned player, while at the same time offering promotions that speak to the beginner, introducing them to the concept of live online gaming.
We built NetEnt Live Casino to be a scalable, flex- ible solution in order to avoid high fixed costs. This is beneficial to both ourselves and our part- ners.
My belief is that in this industry we are guilty of exaggerating how much online players under- stand land-based gaming. In the UK, and markets such as Holland, I think there is a general appreci- ation of live traditional gaming, but in Scandinavia

for example, there isn’t the same level of access and appreciation of the land-based gaming offer. In fact, there’s a majority of players who do not understand the difference between live and RNG casino gaming. Therefore it’s very important to explain to the player what they need to do and help them on their journey.
Live casino gaming comes from the more tradi- tional casino cultures where online products raise questions of trust. In this case there are certain standards that have to be met: the wheel must be visible at all times; the ball dropped and no more bets must follow the land-based model without deviation, and in this respect we have casino managers in the studio from offline land-based casinos to ensure that we recreate all these ele- ments precisely. At the same time, we are also looking to cater for a different player, those that are experienced and already trust the online gam- ing experience. They aren’t questioning the out- come of the spin, or the authenticity of the live casino deal. And during 2015 our focus is to fur- ther enhance the player experience and thus their loyalty. Our aim is to increase the perceived value delivered by the live casino offering.
I believe that the experience of playing with a live person on a table is more entertaining, friendly and enjoyable, because the personality of that human interaction truly adds value and shines through. We don’t have a big team - this is not a factory of 1,000 dealers - so we put a lot of emphasis on communication skills. When I joined the company the dealers were not allowed to show their tattoos. We changed that and found it’s actually a great conversation starter; it’s this
