APEX IDROP REVOLUTIONISES LEUNA’S CASH HANDLING

Great success for APEX iDROP at Merkur Spielbank Leuna-Günthersdorf in Germany. iDROP signifies cash handling revolution at live gaming tables

The iDROP from APEX gaming has been fitted in all live gaming tables at the brand new casi- no Merkur Spielbank Leuna-Günthersdorf. The new casino is the first casino worldwide to have implemented the iDROP for ticketing and cash payment without the need for a cash desk.

Players purchase chips directly at the live gaming table at Merkur Spielbank Leuna- Günthersdorf. The dealer simply places the banknotes or tickets into the iDROP. The iDROP can accept up to 50 notes / tickets at a time in a bundle – it then individually and automatically validates them. When the play- er wishes to cash out, the dealer exchanges the chips for a ticket.

Players accepted this revolution at Merkur Spielbank Leuna-Günthersdorf immediately. Allowing the dealer to exchange cash/tickets for chips and vice versa directly at the table means that players no longer have to visit the cash desk. For this reason the casino manage- ment dispensed with the cash desk altogether. Players now move freely between slots and the live gaming tables. They appreciate that they can take their tickets directly from the slots to live gaming and vice versa.

A key benefit for casino management is that all transactions at the live gaming tables are accounted for in real-time. The iDROP can be

ball at the Roulette table – fittingly carried out by the Lord Major of Leuna, Dr. Dietlind Hagenau, who stated: “Leuna focuses on inno- vations and superlatives and this casino joins these ranks”.

This comment by the Lord Major underlines the superlative the Gauselmann Group has created in this casino. Paul Gauselmann himself stated, “It is our stated objective to successfully man- age this casino in Leuna-Günthersdorf over the long term. Our international experience togeth- er with our partner Stadtcasino Baden AG will make this happen”.

The dedication to provide a wonderful casino setting goes hand-in-hand with the company’s responsibility. Merkur Spielbank Sachsen- Anhalt was presented – as first casino in the

connected to any casino system via SAS to provide operators with immediate information regarding the drop.

Karl-Heinz Lager is the Head of IT and Security at Merkur Spielbanken Sachsen- Anhalt and spearheaded the introduction of the iDROP at the Gauselmann casino. Merkur Spielbank Leuna-Günthersdorf is the first casino in Germany to be opened by the Gauselmann Group. The goal was to create the most modern and sophisticated casino in Germany.

Mr. Lager explained: “The number one focus at the Gauselmann Group has always been serv- ice. The idea that players can go directly to the live tables from the slot machines and exchange their tickets for chips or swap cash for chips if they go directly to the tables repre-

Merkur Spielbanken Sachsen-Anhalt is a joint enterprise of the family- managed eastern Westphalian Gauselmann Group and the Swiss Stadtcasino Baden AG. The company prevailed in 2013 in the selection procedure for the approval to operate casinos in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany and was awarded with this licence in 2014. sents a revolution in gaming. This gives play- ers more freedom and anonymity as they no longer need to go to a cash desk. This also saves them time. That is why our casino does not have a cash desk. Our customers accepted this immediately and there is a positive buzz around the casino. The benefits for us as a casino operator are overwhelming. We have complete and direct feedback and control of the drop. Furthermore, we purchased about half the amount of chips a casino would nor- mally need – as the chips all remain at the tables as none are required for a cash desk.”

Kubilay Özer, Global Sales Director at APEX gaming, commented: “We are very proud that Spielbank Leuna-Günthsdorf has fitted our iDROP on all its live gaming tables. We worked very closely with Mr. Lager and his team to integrate our revolutionary solution.”

whole of Europe – with the Responsible Gaming Certificate by Pieter Remmers, speaker of the internationally renowned Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4). “You are not only setting new standards with your casino offer and serv- ice at the Merkur Casino in Leuna-Günthersdorf but also are taking innovative steps centered around the theme of Responsible Gaming. You can be very proud of this certification”, noted Mr. Remmers during his speech and then pre- sented the certificate to a very proud Claudia Bieling.

Visitors to the Grand Opening were treated to entertainment of the finest level with exquisite live music and even an Elvis Presley imperson- ator. People of all ages spent an evening to remember at Casino Leuna to round off a truly successful Grand Opening.
