Review ICE TOTALLY GAMING 2015
Panther is a title that has been simultaneously launched across multiple channels, land-based, mobile and online, in collaboration with the Rank Group in the UK. “It’s the first time that we’ve launched a game title across so many different platforms at the same time,” stated Mr. Gill. “The success of the Prowling Panther is the first of many launches planned with operators to attract a cross-platform demographic. We are seeing a lot of markets starting to embrace the benefits of multi-channel gaming and really understand the opportunities that cross-platform alignment brings. It’s a fact that both markets and operators are all at different levels of digital and new technology maturity, but what is universal is the need to appeal to a new player demographic.”
“The walk-up factor to the new CrystalDual cabinet range is superb, with lighting, crystal clear clarity and the overall presentation of the game
creating real drama on any casino floor.”
The emphasis Mr. Gill places upon the integration of new technology with the VIP concept (Volatility, Innovation and Presentation) was immediately obvious touring the IGT stand at ICE. The cabinets glowed with an iPhone-like presence, while the games on the DualCrystal in particular displayed simple, strong game mechanics. Innovative game mechanics such as locking stacks were straightforward and easy to understand, as were the latest games that harken back to simple 3 x 3 reels, such as Mythical Warriors Centaur, replete with progressive for a real gambler’s experience.
The simplicity of the reel layout also means that the operator can configure the volatility of the game to suit their players, scaling the game from 5 x 1 to 50 x 1 according to the preference of their players. Speed and simplicity were the watchwords by which all the games on the IGT stand could be judged, with even the hugely impressive Sherlock Holmes, with its movie clips and perfectly integrated sound bites delivering an entertainment package that can offer the player huge wins too.
In sum, the IGT stand at ICE brought together the best of IGT’s classic games, cabinets and mechanics, with S3000, Party Time and 3 x 3 reels beautifully bringing classic progressives, steppers and simple game mechanics bang up-to- date for existing and new audiences. Meanwhile, the DualCrystal cabinet, Prowling Panther and MegaJackpot game Sherlock Holmes offer the next evolution in cutting-edge gaming innovation.
CONNECTING AT GLOBAL LEVEL Urbain Thewissen on the e-gaming stand at ICE
e-gaming is making an impact at the international level with its latest VLT cabinet and cross-over games range
Czech-based e-gaming has been busily expanding its business in international markets both in land-based and online markets. Today the company has installed over 400 VLTs in the Spanish market and is looking grow this figure to 1,000 in the near future. The company has also been successful placing games with online casino operators in Belgium, a project that is set to lead to the licensing of e-gaming in Malta as a supplier of games, in addition to further exploring markets in South America.
“One of the USPs of this company is the ability
to react quickly and flexibly,” explains e- gaming’s Pavel Michalcio at the ICE show in London. “We have a development team of over 40 software developers who are able to move very quickly to change and adapt our games to a variety of platforms and markets, from land- based to online gaming. We are enjoying success in our domestic markets, continuing to define neighbouring markets such as Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, and have put a great deal of effort in the Spanish market, which has rewarded us for our efforts. We have launched a new cabinet at the ICE show which we are very excited to bring to international markets, and as we convert our e-gaming catalogue of VLT games from land-based to online, we hope to enjoy the same success in the online space too.”
