Review ICE TOTALLY GAMING 2015

CAMMEGH DELIVERS PERFECT ROULETTE SIDEBET

Spreadbet Roulette is a sidebet that ticks all the right boxes and looks set to become a familar sight on gaming tables

Cammegh, makers of the world’s finest roulette wheels, enjoyed yet another spectacularly successful show in London, with ICE 2015 proving to be Cammegh’s most productive show ever. Driving this demand were the latest additions to Cammegh’s ever-widening portfolio of high quality roulette-centric products, which this year included a brand new streamlined Billboard display with additional functionality, and one of the standout launch products at the show, Spreadbet Roulette, a new roulette-based sidebet.

“The beautiful thing about sidebets is that they slot perfectly into our core business,” enthused Andrew Cammegh at ICE 2015. “Our customers are already invested in our wheels and displays, so they’ve no hardware to acquire and we’re not demanding a larger footprint on their floor. A simple enhancement to the layout and a software update is all that’s needed. It’s an easy progressive step and one that operators recognise as a value- added and intrinsic part of their customer offer.”

In creating Spreadbet Roulette, Cammegh adhered strictly what it describes as five golden rules:

l The sidebet must not take from the house edge, but bring new money to the table,

l It must give instant gratification and not rely on a sequence of games before delivering the result,

l It must take less than five seconds for the dealer to explain the sidebet,

l It must not impact upon productivity - the dealer must deal the same number of games.

l It must make the casino more money. The catalyst that sparked Spreadbet Roulette into

4 0

life was the need in many gaming territories for sidebets to be an extension of the game of roulette. “We currently offer our sidebet, Lucky Symbols, in markets across the world and it’s performing very well,” described Mr. Cammegh. “However, certain countries can’t offer Lucky Symbols as it isn’t directly roulette-based, so we devised Spreadbet Roulette to be totally roulette focused. As a game that traditionally offers only one game result, Spreadbet Roulette takes roulette’s 35-1 result and expands that to up to 1,200-1, generating a huge amount of player interest and at the same time increasing the house edge for the operator.”

Cammegh is about to roll-out Spreadbet Roulette as part of a high level cooperation with Grosvenor Casinos, testing the new sidebet in 10 locations across the UK. “We in the final preparation stages for the Grosvenor roll-out” stated Mr. Cammegh. “I would like to think that as we launch Spreadbet Roulette in the UK over the next few months that it will become a staple sidebet within the market, as it is so closely aligned to the traditional game. All we are doing is adding another series of numbers and increasing the spectrum of odds. Spreadbet Roulette is the first roulette-based sidebet that we believe can smash through the 35- 1 glass ceiling and deliver mini-jackpot payouts on a flat bet on roulette. I hope that it will become a familiar sight in casinos as it enables roulette to compete head-to-head with successful card game sidebets.”

While the limelight at ICE was undoubtedly stolen by Spreadbet Roulette, Cammegh’s Billboard display continued its evolutionary path with notable enhancements on show, including the ability to stream live TV to the display. Further updates include the addition of Multiboard Mini, which enables operators to display multiple pit results on a single screen. “Multiboard Mini is designed for operators with single-sided displays that want the functionality of a double-sided screen,” explained Mr. Cammegh. “Multiboard Mini shows the results from other pits in miniature on the same single screen, allowing

players to follow trends and numbers to give the pit a real lift.”

Shown as a prototype on the Cammegh stand at ICE, the slimline Billboard in 24, 27 and 32ins. utilises the latest technology to create a crisp, flat- glass finish reminiscent of an iPhone. “We’ve seen a notable rise in the popularity of the Billboard 32” which is now almost as popular as the 24ins. version, revealed Mr. Cammegh. “Operators want more from their screens, they’re demanding high powered networkable stand-alone devices, running pin-sharp graphics, streamlined form factors and additional features as part of the existing screen real-estate. Everything in fact that the new Billboard delivers.”

As a game that traditionally

offers only one result, Spreadbet Roulette takes roulette’s 39-1 result and expands that to

1,200-1, generating huge player interest in potentially major wins and at the same time increasing the house edge for the operator.

Finally, Cammegh is renowned by operators around the world for both the quality of its products and the personality and sense of responsibility of its team. It’s a relationship that’s relied upon year in and year out to deliver the highest quality products alongside top class personal service. It’s this unique combination that was recognised by the industry at the IGA awards on February 2 in London, as Bill Cammegh, company founder and chairman, accepted his Outstanding Achievement award. Cammegh is hugely proud of the contribution its founder has made to the gaming business and has been humbled by the recognition of the industry of both Bill and his family’s achievements.
