Review ICE TOTALLY GAMING 2015 Synot Gaming Spain CEO, Manuel Torres Alvarez, pictured at ICE with Synot’s Miroslav Valenta

“Referendums have been held at the local city level across the country to address this issue, wherein the highest turnout in any local region was 13.8 per cent of the population. A referendum is only valid if 30 per cent of those entitled to vote actually do so. It’s a joke.”

Due to this turmoil at home, it’s little wonder that Synot has put such recent emphasis on international market expansion, looking beyond neighbouring markets like Slovakia, where Synot has over 35 per cent of the market, to further flung markets in Spain, Africa and Asia. “We have been spreading our business into new markets, new countries as part of Synot’s international expansion,” explained Mr. Andrýsek. “Two-three years ago our geographical footprint spread to just a handful of countries in middle eastern Europe. Today, we have opened a company in Spain and in Africa across three countries, we’re forging ahead with our VLTs in Greece and are in the process of registration in Macau. In the last two-three years the Synot Group has grown to

become a truly international company.”

Speaking at ICE to Synot Gaming Spain’s CEO, Manuel Torres Alvarez, he described a vibrant market in Spain for Synot’s VLT range, where the company’s family approach to business is warmly welcomed by Spanish operators. “Operators in Spain recognise the family roots of the Synot business and appreciate that they can speak directly to the owners who can move very quickly to meet their needs,” outlines Mr. Torres Alvarez. “Synot has a great product for the Spanish market and for wider distribution in South America too. I believe the VLT product will be very successful in Spain as we continue to apply and receive approvals for the autonomous regions across the country. We aim to have everything ready for our first region by the time of the FER Madrid exhibition and look forward to meeting with customers at the event.”

many parallels with the Czech market in which we traditionally supplied gaming machines to a large installed base of AWP machines, which is very similar to the situation in Spain today. When you look at the shift to 75 per cent VLTs in the Czech Republic right now, we see enormous opportunities in Spain for the future.”
