Review ICE TOTALLY GAMING 2015

IGT GET THE ICE PARTY STARTED

Party Time! made a welcome return on the IGT stand at ICE alongside the stunning S3000 cabinet and multi- channel launch title, Prowling Panther

Across Europe the introduction of IGT’s new S3000 cabinet has been hungrily anticipated since its unveiling at the G2E show in September. Viewed as a new take on the hugely successful S2000 stepper range of slots from IGT, the new cabinet updates and modernises every aspect of the machine, including bringing over to the new cabinet many top-performing S2000 games. Speaking to IGT’s Sabby Gill at the ICE show in London, he explained: “Operators still love their S2K machine and games, so we’re making the change as easy as possible by bringing all their favourite titles, such as Double Diamond, Double Gold and Super X Pay, to a brand new cutting- edge machine that delivers a host of hi-tech functionality.”

The new S3000 cabinet made its international debut at ICE with a sound and lighting package that delivers a dynamic performance on any floor. As described by Mr. Gill. “The S3K in fact leapfrogs several layers of innovation, enabling players to interact with the reels, touching the

screen for action during roulette wheel bonuses for example. This is innovation that appeals both to the existing stepper demographic, as we are presenting all their familiar favourites in a dynamic new cabinet; plus the bonus elements with touch technology appeals to the younger demographic whose instinct is to touch and interact with every game in which they come into contact.”

Also making its big debut at ICE, though this time as a world-premiere, was IGT’s CrystalDual cabinet. IGT showed six new games with Mr. Gill explaining that a further 30 games will be

available for the new cabinet, which is a sister- product of IGT’s CrystalCore cabinet. New game ‘The Fates’ was on display at ICE and practically leapt off the amazingly sharp touchscreen with vivid vibrant colours and Pixar-esque graphics and animations.

One of the key games that IGT is especially excited to be bringing to international markets is the new release, Fruitastic. It’s a game that’s highly anticipated for European markets in particular as it cranks up the volatility to a Spinal Tap-like level 11. “We have a lot of markets looking for the combination of fruit-based games with very high volatility,” explained Mr. Gill. “There are markets such as the UK, South Africa, Romania, Bulgaria, etc., that are looking for less entertainment and much more volatility, which is exactly what a game like Fruitastic delivers. It’s part of our VIP approach to game design, in which V is for volatility, I stands for innovation - in

which we innovate by removing overcomplicated gameplay - and where P is for presentation. The walk-up factor to the new cabinet range is superb, with lighting, crystal clear clarity and the overall presentation of the game creating real drama on any floor.”

The return of massive player favourites wasn’t just the preserve of the S3000, the new Crystal Dual enjoyed its own re-vamped and re- energised version of one of IGT’s most loved multi-level progressive themes, Party Time. “Party Time was one of our most successful titles,” explained Mr. Gill of the return of the classic. “Now in the CrystalDual cabinet we’ve seen massive interest from operators as we’ve left the gameplay intact from the original, but brought the hardware experience right up to date.”

Yet another world’s first for IGT at ICE was a game that offers true universal appeal. Prowling
