Interactive FUTURE OF CASINO DEALING

“The online Live Casino operation involves new

technologies, which creates a huge pool of opportunities for

those interested to progress and who are pro-active.”

OLGA: There are too many aspects that have to be taken into account, so it doesn`t matter if we speak about online or land-based: the size of the company, the technologies that are used and the ambitions of the owners, I guess, as well. The online Live Casino operation involves the use of new technologies by default, which creates a huge and varied pool of opportunities for those who are interested to move and progress and who are pro-active. If we speak about our company, Evolution Gaming has around 100 different posi- tions so the choice is obviously big.

HELEN: Online Live Casino presents great prospects for anyone entering the sector. Olga is one such example, having risen from trainee deal- er to Head of Evolution Academy, our live dealer training centre, in just a few years. Within an international company such as Evolution there are opportunities for relocation too. Several staff have followed this path, with Andres being one such example.

One has to remember also that there are smaller online Live Casino providers and then there is Evolution; the scale and sophistication of our operations are very different. We have almost 100 tables in our studio in Latvia and another 30-plus native speaking dealer tables in our Malta studio. Both are 24/7/365 operations, so there are a great many dealer teams around at any one time. This creates a buzz in itself and there is a great deal of camaraderie and team spirit. Dealers are incen- tivised collectively as teams to deliver the best service to end players, to work together and to mentor new dealers. Equally, there are a great many support staff linked to each table and also

greater numbers of staff at all levels as you go up the chain.

Also, there is definite scope for crossover. For example, we have specifically recruited dealers with land-based experience for our native English speaking London Roulette tables. Some of the dealers were surprised by the difference between the land-based and online dealer role. Some realise that it is more of a challenge than had ini- tially anticipated. Obviously we are looking to create an engaging, dynamic and interactive experience with online Live Casino – as close as it gets to being in a real casino – but without the players sat there physically at the table. Some dealers know how to hit it straight away and they just click into the online personality mode; others find it takes time to adapt.

As the sector matures, and as we see online Live Casino services become tightly integrated with land-based casino operations, we are likely to see crossover back from online to land-based. The land-based venues will need the online skill sets.
