Review ICE TOTALLY GAMING 2015

“One of the things we have really focused upon this year is our range of new proprietary games,” described TCSJohnHuxley’s Tracy Cohen at ICE. “As a table gaming solutions provider, we are really pushing our library of games in connection with Gaming Floor Live, to enable operators to find exactly the right game that fits their floor. We are especially excited about Lucky Joker for Asia, which is a variant on sic bo and is a really simple and fast game to pick up and play.”

Lucky Joker is a brand new game designed to appeal to the Asian market. It’s very simple to play and to deal and can be played on a blackjack-shaped table or a rectangular sic bo- style table. Lucky Joker’s patent-pending, RNG technology attracts players with a choice of betting options. Six cards are dealt face down on the special LED area, whereby a light-bar illuminates randomly across all the cards. With the simple click of a dealer button - or an optional player-managed button - the light will stop on one card and the winner is revealed.

In addition to Lucky Joker, TCSJohnHuxley debuted two further games at ICE 2015, Roulette 18 and Power 8’s. Roulette 18 is a space saving alternative to traditional roulette. Played using a 20-sided dice instead of a wheel, Roulette 18 uses a unique layout without the need for a roulette- sized table, which frees up casino floor space. It also provides a cost effective alternative to traditional roulette, with no additional hardware or software required, just the 20-sided dice and shaker. With less numbers on the table and no ball spinning to wait for, Roulette 18 is played much faster than traditional Roulette. This increase in game speed attributes to an improved game hold percentage and a faster return on investment, as players are drawn into the excitement.

Completing the new games line up is Power 8’s, a progressive side bet for Baccarat. In Power 8’s, players bet on the combination and frequency of 8’s dealt, either as part of the initial 4 card deal or from the total of drawn cards representing a result in the main game. The three top progressive jackpots are shared equally between all those who placed a bet on the winning progressive bet sensors. It’s simple, fast and fun, appealing to both seasoned and new Baccarat players alike.

Bobby Liscio, Senior Product Manager commented: “The introduction of these new games to the our portfolio brings added excitement and variety to traditional games as well as new game concepts tailored to specific market requirements. Our current library of games are designed to enhance player experience and provide increased revenues, fulfilling the needs of both players and operators.”

TRULY INDEPENDENT LINKING

Comtrade Gaming demonstrated its sCore Connect system at ICE, linking together any slot from any supplier

Slot management systems have traditionally been designed to accomplish two basic objectives; giving operators the greatest flexibility in controlling their slots on one side, and narrowing purchasing options and speeding the replacement cycle on the other. Operators trying to modernize their floors have today a challenge – their current machines are all connected to their system through legacy SAS protocol, while new modern machines already can communicate via G2S. Replacement of all machines at once including host system is not an option so some hybrid solution would be needed to cover the transition time.

Looking at this equation from the perspective of the operator, Comtrade Gaming has devised a solution, sCore Connect, which enables operator’s and vendor’s Casino Management Systems to communicate directly with electronic gaming machines using Gaming Standards Association’s Game To System (G2S) protocol. In addition, it also enables host systems to be extended with new G2S functionalities, such as efficient remote management of gaming machines and media display technology.

“As an independent gaming systems management provider, Comtrade has created a solution that connects any machine to a

centralised system, enabling the operator to retain their existing casino management system,” described Ales Gornjec, Comtrade General Manager.

“sCore Connect brings additional functionality in addition to efficient remote machine management, including media display services that open complete new way for operators to award and communicate with players in real time.. To achieve this Comtrade has been investing in G2S for more than five year, having recognised the opportunities it presented to unify and connect slots from multiple vendors and integrate sCore Connect as a communication engine between existing host systems and new G2S capable slot machines.

G2S is an Ethernet based protocol that doesn’t require any additional hardware to be installed on a gaming machine. Such hardware, usually referenced as Slot Machine Interface Boards (SMIB), often include displays and card readers that increase its cost. G2S based casino floor operations are therefore more cost efficient since game machine is implemented with all necessary functionalities.

All messaging, security, complex data structures, state transitions and specific data collections are performed by sCore in GSA compliant way. The system is scalable to connect to several thousand machines within a big casino or tens of thousands of machines within a distributed gaming environment.
