Debbie Malin, General Manager at Astrosystems explained that the main advantage with the sorter was its speed. It is designed t work in conjunction with the Microcoin QL coin acceptor which operates at up to 10 coins per second as a single or multi- coin acceptor across a wide range of world currencies, whilst maintaining a strong protective barrier against fraud attempts. It is also at the forefront of new gaming developments, particularly the Italian Comma 6a+ initiative.

successful coin mech, and is the default product for the pool table industry, in addition to a strong presence in the jukebox and kiddy ride markets. The extremely high levels of reliability from the SP, together with a unique jam release mechanism, have made this a very attractive product to operators and service technicians alike. Additional features include a unique bonus credit system, and remote downloading of firmware and software. As a
further optional extra, the SP can also be fitted with a stylish SP 115mm faceplate which offers a blue illuminated coin slot.
To complement the Microcoin products, the Global Bill Acceptors range of note validation products is also truly diverse. The stackerless GBA ST2 bank note reader has been particularly successful in the challenging European gaming and amusement markets.
ICE CROWDS GATHER AHEAD OF MEI SCR LAUNCH
This month the MEI SCR note recycler is released to the German market. At ICE the crowds gathered to sneak an early peek
CPI exhibited at ICE 2015 with the most comprehensive portfolio of payment systems in the Gaming industry. In the spotlight on the company’s booth was the new MEI SCR note recycler, which continues to yield impressive performance results across multiple field trials. It is scheduled to be released into the European AWP market in March, beginning with Germany.
“Our performance at ICE this year was really a landmark moment for CPI – signifying the successful completion of our consolidation phase,” said Eric Fisher, CPI president of Gaming.
“Last year, the two former sides of our business, Crane and MEI, were still exhibiting separately,” he explained. “Now, we’ve achieved stability and unity as a single entity – an accomplishment underscored not only by our booth this year but also by the continued growth of our product portfolio with the SCR note recycler. We were constantly running demonstrations for both existing and potential customers. In fact, I don’t remember a year at ICE when either the Crane or MEI booth was so busy. This year was a tremendous success for us.”

CASHFLOW SC and SC Advance note acceptors, raising performance expectations to deliver a more efficient, secure and cost-effective way to handle cash payments in non-TITO environments.
In EGMs that traditionally pay jackpots in coins, SCR virtually eliminates hopper starvation by using the same notes it accepts from previous transactions (including the €50) to dispense as winnings. As a result, SCR requires less maintenance and can run for longer periods of time, lowering the overall cost of operation.
Operators also benefit from the unprecedented level of security provided by SCR – its architecture has been fortified with several innovative features designed to minimize cash exposure on the recyclers, even in a powered down state.
“Given the high demand for SCR already, we’ve actually had to increase our performance capacity prior to launch,” said Mr. Fisher. “Operators are excited to finally have a note recycling solution that is both practical and performance-driven.”
