Definitely – technology is giving more data to the dealer allowing to speed up process and increase accuracy, provide more verbal information, etc.

Regarding land-based the main changes were related to control and display equipment includ- ing the progress in shuffling machines and the remote betting options added made some merging between land-based and online experience (i.e. roulette betting terminals linked to a real table game).

An online player has the same high expectations on their experience. It should be quick in terms of no latency and it should at the same time be entertaining.
Communicating with the player - how different is the connection with the player when dealing online as opposed to land-based? If you were listening to two games being dealt with only the sound to guide you - could you tell which was online and which land-based?
Yes you could easily distinguish the difference because an online dealer has to entertain the players. They are constantly keeping a conversa-
tion with the players in order to get them engaged.
The main difference is that in online world deal- ers don’t see the players in front of them, but there is definitely more interaction required to maintain a “live” feel.
Due to the fact online dealers are interacting a way more and their attitude is required to be more “friendly” and “engaging” you can easily define which is land based and which is online audio feed.
Are the players the same for land-based and online live table gaming? Should they be treated the same by the dealer or need they adapt to a dif- ferent audience?
It is hard for us as a software provider to answer this since we don’t deal directly with the players. But we suspect that the players are the same and should therefore be treated in a similar, not iden- tical, way so that they feel at home when they are in front of their computer.
