Interactive FUTURE OF CASINO DEALING
This will continue as new counties open up their markets and adapt and improve on jurisdictions already operational. Holding a land-based licence will not automatically grant you an online licence as additional criteria will need to be met mainly associated with the technology and security setup.
What have been the technological developments that have had the biggest impact on the way games are dealt online?
Green screen or Chroma Key technology offer another level of experience for the player and operator. Already multiple operators’ players can play on the same table and see a totally different background branded according to the operator they are playing through. This could also go to another level and cater for the affiliate market. Operators with Sportsbooks can and do offer information on existing events, displaying odds and even links or tabs to place bets live. Operators will be able to change backgrounds themselves. Maybe in the future this could be adapted per

When you actually break it down to the physical process on dealing in an online casino, the changes have been similar to those in land-based
operations. What has changed online is the way the dealer/presenter deals. It’s not just about put- ting a pretty dealer in front of a screen and telling them to pull cards or spin the ball. He/She needs to be aware of her position on the table in relation to the camera shot, monitor and react to the chat screen, make sure results are accurate and follow the dealer screen instructions in addition to pro- viding an entertaining experience for the players. Not so much a dealer but a presenter and the most important asset in any online casino.
What technological advance would you like to see that would improve both the online and the land- based dealing experience for the dealer and the player?
I love my gadgets so I would like to be able to “walk” into a virtual casino (Google Specs or sim- ilar), based on a land-based casino like Monte Carlo one day and maybe Planet Hollywood in LV the next. I would be able to walk up to the dealer and talk directly to her, take a seat and play whilst still being able to “look around” the casino.
