An exhibitor seeing unprecedented levels of growth is RF manufacturer ETL Systems. “Pressure on teleport rack space, as well as the need for satellite feed redundancy needs ETL designs to be highly compact and offer hot- swap and redundant features,” said Dr Esen Bayar, ETL’s CTO. “This is essential as satellite teleports continue to rely so heavily on satellite signals for their
programme content and need them delivered reliably. “ETL continues to lead the way in terms of RF custom design and build,” he
continued, “and thanks to new
staff, better components and improved testing we have launched 48 designs in the last year. Of these one of the most notable was the Alto range of L-band amplifiers
which offer excellent gain flatness, isolation and a high 1dB gain compression point.” A highlight of the ETL Systems stand is the new V Series of high-density matrices (Vulcan, Vortex, Valiant and Victor) which join the Enigma IF to L-band matrix that is used for many professional

teleports occasional use (OU) feeds. These ETL matrices allow multiple satellite feeds to be routed to one or any of the outputs and, says the company, offer some interesting new features ranging from web browser interface to input variable gain. 1.A33

Osprey has two chicks
Viewcast By Anne Morris
The latest offering from ViewCast is the Osprey 845e video capture card. The Osprey 845e includes multiple independent high- density SDI inputs and has a true 3G input (SMPTE 424) and only one connector. The Osprey 845e is available in two models – standard definition or high definition SDI. The standard definition model can be field upgraded to high definition SDI, helping the user to manage infrastructure cost. The HDmodel can input four independent HDSDI signals or two 3G SDI signals. Built with the same Osprey drivers, this PCI Express card also has drivers for Microsoft Windows and Linux. With more modes and pre-
processing features, the Osprey 845e has user-defined screens for signal loss to prevent streaming interruptions as well as automatic HD-SD input detection and switching. 14.101
