appearance at the Networking Party, the Merging Technologies Horus network audio converter is continuing to gain ground
It’s a thumbs up: the Horus digital audio converter being put through its paces by Merging designers Claude Cellier and Loic Andrieu
with broadcasters and other user groups worldwide. Using Ravenna technology, Horus heralds the possibility of interconnecting an entire facility using nothing more than a standard RJ45 connector. The system emerges at a time when broadcasters are increasingly
aware of the efficiency of networked audio devices, as well as the less obvious benefits of power consumption, reduction in rack space and a simplified audio chain. Deployed with Ravenna, Horus becomes an IP node on the network and allows comprehensive routing and control of the converter’s I/O capability.

Merging is also highlighting the V2.0 software revision of its MXFix Audio Compliance Server, with sports user- requested additions. Fully R-128, A/85 and tomorrow’s BS.1770-2 compliant, this faster than realtime batch file solution is designed to enhance broadcast and post quality control workflows. 8.E96
Antenna for speedier placement
Sematron By Ian McMurray
The TP-NetKaster-100 is the latest in the ultra-fast quick deployable antenna range from Holkirk Communications, and is being featured on its stand by Sematron. Its design includes a 1.0M high gain carbon fibre reflector, ‘no-tools’ assembly, folding feed arm assembly, quick deploy tri-pod, inclinometer and fine adjust on azimuth and elevation.
The tripod has
detachable feet to allow for ground anchors to be fitted, ensuring maximum stability for reliable operation. According to Sematron, the lightweight, robust and reliable construction, in conjunction with high gain 1M carbon reflector, will ensure excellent performance even at the extremities of satellite footprint. 1.A62
