New York - Local community says yes to Coney Bensonhurst in Brooklyn has voted in favour of the proposal for The Coney, a casino earmarked for Coney Island if it lands a licence for one of three gaming facilities in the city. The Bensonhurst Community Board 11’s yes vote applies to the three potential New York State gaming licences.
The 20 board members who voted yes, want the affected community boards, such as 11 and Coney Island’s Community Board 13, to provide input if The Coney wins a gaming licence, so residents can voice their opinions on traffic and job creation with a focus on investing in youth. The plan is for a towering glass building overlooking the amusement park in the heart of the waterfront community, housing the casino.

California - North Fork Mono Casino detailed The North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians and Station Casinos are teaming up to develop a casino called North Fork Mono Casino & Resort in California, a project that has so far been 19 years in the making. The partnership announced the approval by the Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission of the Third Amended and Restated Management Agreement. Under the Management Agreement and a related development agreement, the Tribe will, with Station’s assistance, develop and operate a gaming and entertainment facility on a 305-acre parcel of land adjacent to Highway 99 north of the City of Madera, California.
The site was taken into trust for the benefit of the Tribe by the Department of the Interior in February 2013. Upon completion, the North Fork Project will feature a 100,000-square-foot casino with over 2,000 slot and video poker machines and 40 table games, including blackjack, Pai Gow, and Three-card Poker. The tribe started its push for the casino in 2003 but has been hampered by legal challenges in the California Supreme Court. The Tribe now expects to start construction later in 2024 with the build expected to take 15-18 months to complete.

Google Play will begin supporting more Real-Money Games apps this year, with the rollout set to commence in June for developers in India, Mexico, and Brazil.
Google has announced that Google Play will begin supporting more Real-Money Games (RMG) apps this year, including game types and operators not covered by the existing licensing framework.
In 2021, Google began onboarding a wider range of RMG apps in markets with pre-existing licensing frameworks. Since then, this app category has continued to grow with developers creating new RMG experiences for mobile. Real- Money Games are apps where users can wager real money with chances to win more. Examples include Blackout Bingo, Solitaire Cash, and FanDuel Fantasy Sports.
"To ensure Google Play keeps up with the pace of developer innovation, while promoting user safety, we’ve since conducted several pilot programmes to determine how to support more RMG operators and game types," explained Karan Gambhir – Director, Global Trust and Safety Partnerships, Google. "For example, many developers in India were eager to bring RMG apps to more Android users, so we launched a pilot programme, starting with Rummy and Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS), to understand the

BetMGM has debuted the first of a three-part, star-studded teaser campaign promoting the company’s first-ever Big Game television spot featuring Tom Brady and Wayne Gretzky, along with actor Vince Vaughn. Te previews — featuring Brady, Gretzky and Vaughn in conversation — provide a glimpse into what BetMGM has in store to entertain Big Game fans. Te campaign was created in partnership with agency, Highdive.
“Tis year’s Big Game is our moment to put BetMGM front and center of the largest audience in sports,” said Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer. “Our first-ever Big Game commercial showcases Las Vegas as home for the game as well as what we consider to be BetMGM’s home.”
best way to support their businesses."
Te change means that RMG developers and marketers can now innovate beyond traditional frameworks, reaching a wider audience. However, this expansion, combined with Google's recent policy allowing sports betting ads in app campaigns, could also drive advertising costs higher due to increased competition, impacting the overall app market on Google Play.
Google is set to launch this expanded RMG support in June, 2024 to developers for their users in India, Mexico, and Brazil, and plans to expand to users in more countries in the future. Te expansion also enables developers currently participating in RMG pilots in India and Mexico to continue offering their apps on Play.
"Google Play’s existing developer policies supporting user safety, such as requiring age- gating to limit RMG experiences to adults and requiring developers use geo-gating to offer RMG apps only where legal, remain unchanged and we’ll continue to strengthen them," added Karan Gambhir.
