INSIGHT LAND-BASED GAMING Impressions

Count SYNOT

Whilst acknowledging the crucial

role game software plays, SYNOT's Miroslav Valenta jr., Sales Director, and Stanislav Stanev, International Business Development Director, stress the all-important role of cabinet ergonomics in getting bums on seats.

First

SYNOT has been in business over 30 years. What does reliable, sound, and engaging cabinet hardware look like in 2024, and how does this differ from 2014, 2004 and 1994?

With an extensive history dating back to 1991, our company has a long experience in the gaming industry. Initially we started by distributing, from today‘s point of view, very old wooden mechanical reel machines. In the early stages, the machines looked very simple and the focus was primarily on having an interesting game with little attention to the ergonomic aspects of the cabinets.

In time, as customer and player needs changed and the market was technologically developed, so did our approach. We recognised the need to prioritise the ergonomics, materials and design of cabinets and we switched to video machines and metal cabinets. and the products are so competitive at the moment and that’s why it is very important to have huge, shiny, eye-catching machines from a design point of view.

We need to make sure that our products, when installed on the casino floor, are immediately attractive especially for new coming players. To sum it up, we have realised that the essence of a successful gaming experience is not only in the design and games, but it is also necessary to find a balance between design and ergonomic aspects to provide a complete and enjoyable gaming environment to keep players playing on the machines as long as they wish.

We have gone through this long experience not only as a supplier but also as an operator and this has given us invaluable insight and a comprehensive understanding of the industry. We are now able to offer a wide range of products that meet the highest standards in the gaming industry.

Is enduring performance ultimately contingent on the strength of a cabinet or its content? To what extent can cabinet hardware stunt a gaming system, and vice versa?

Te most important thing about a cabinet is its ability to captivate players from the moment they step onto the casino floor. Undoubtedly, the game software, with its stunning graphics, math models and sounds, also plays a crucial role. However, it is the cabinet that makes the first impression. Even if the content is very good, it is important to ensure that the cabinet is ergonomically comfortable for the player and that they enjoy playing for longer time.

What makes a visually compelling land-based title? Does greater graphical detail necessarily mean better for the modern casino player, or is there still demand for 'retro-style' games with simplified interfaces?
