Indianapolis, IN — Specialty Coating Systems (SCS) is exhibiting its range of conformal coating systems at IPC APEX 2018, including the Precision - Coat V, PrecisionCoat BT, Omega - meter SMD 650, and Parylene coating services. The PrecisionCoat V, available
in conformal coating, dispensing and/or potting platforms, offers flexi- bility and efficiency for manufactur- ers. The PrecisionCoat V’s conformal coating and dispense valves move smoothly along its three axis system, with an option to add fully program- mable fourth and fifth axes for tilt and rotation capabilities. The system’s multi-valve tech-
nology allows for the application of dots, lines, fills, glob tops, and spray- coat areas. The system ensures accu- racy, repeatability and high through- put for a wide range of automated material application, all in a foot- print that maximizes valuable pro- duction floor space. The SCS PrecisionCoat auto-
matic tool change feature makes it easy to quickly pick up the active valve or tool, then drop it off and pick up another. This can be performed with up to five valves within the same program with no operator intervention, while maintaining the unit’s large work area.
ELANTAS Now Offers CONASHIELD
Coating St. Louis, MO —ELANTAS PDG, Inc., (EPDG) is now offering CONA - SHIELD™ as a part of the EPDG fam- ily of high-quality electrical insulation products. CONASHIELD was devel- oped to provide the performance of potting with the convenience of confor- mal coating. Its “flood coat” technology is
designed to perform as well as stan- dard potting systems, with a 30 to 60 percent reduction in weight. It also exhibits excellent electronic insula- tion and vibration damping. CONA SHIELD has moisture
and chemical resistance with heat dissipation and can be conveniently dispensed in a similar way to confor- mal coating. ELANTAS, a division of AL -
TANA Group, produces insulating materials for the electrical and elec- tronics industry. Among many other applications, these products can be found in electric motors, vehicles, transformers, capacitors, circuit boards, and sensors. ALTANA Group comprises four
divisions, BYK Additives & Instru - ments, ECKART Effect Pig ments, ELANTAS Electrical Insula tion, and ACTEGA Coatings & Sealants. With approximately 6,000 employees world- wide, the company services coating manufacturers, paint and plastic processors, the printing and packag- ing industries, cosmetics, and the elec-
tronics industry. Contact: ELANTAS PDG, Inc.,

applies materials with configurable conformal coating and/or dispense valves (up to two) that move along three axes (x, y and z) with a com- mand accuracy of ±0.0001 in. (±0.003 mm) and ±0.003 in. (±0.08 mm) repeatability. The system is useful for manufacturers looking to auto- mate their manual processes or to add additional capacity to their pro- duction floor or lab. The Omegameter SMD 650 is a
next-generation, software-controlled ionic contamination cleanliness test system. The system identifies the pres- ence of ionic contamination on bare and assembled PCBs and other elec- tronic components, and provides an
accurate and repeatable method for determining cleanliness on location. It

complies with current industrial speci- fications, such as ANSI/J-STD-001 and IPC-TM-650, and obsolete military specifications, e.g. MIL-STD-2000A. SCS is also showcasing its
Parylene coating services and tech- nologies. With 20 coating facilities around the world and more than 45 years of applications experience, SCS is well-suited to meet the needs of the electronics, automotive, medical de -
vice, and defense industries. Contact: Specialty Coating
