Duluth, GA — Viscom is displaying a range of AOI, AXI and SPI systems at IPC APEX 2018, including the X8011-II and X7056-II 3D X-ray inspection systems, along with the S3088 ultra gold, S3088 ultra chrome and S3088 SPI system. The use of BGAs, QFNs and
QFPs is increasing. Because their con- nectors are mostly hidden, many sol- der joints can only be inspected reli- ably with an X-ray system. Viscom’s X8011-II PCB high-resolution X-ray inspection system was developed espe- cially for these tasks. Typical applica- tions include the inspection of electron- ic assemblies and components, quality assurance in power electronics or non- destructive special inspections. The X7056-II automatic 3D X-
ray inspection system is capable of extremely high throughput and superb image quality for the require- ments of high-end electronics produc- tion. This new AXI in-line system can ensure precise inspection of hidden solder joints and components in high- volume production. It is equipped with the company’s xFastFlow trans- port module, which cuts PCB chang- ing times. With this feature, up to three boards can be processed at the same time. nickel-stabilized tin-copper eutectic, containing a small amount of germa- nium to reduce oxidation. SN100C generates bright and shiny solder joints, comparable with lead-contain- ing solders. In 2005, NASA tests indicated that SN100C is the most reliable soft solder for wave solder- ing. SN100C is especially preferred for the higher process temperatures of selective soldering.
